Lost cause, my ass. U.S. military forces destroyed the Iraqi forces and stabilized the world economy by taking control of the oil fields. There ya go, Barry, short and sweet.
I'm just glad there isn't another nation on earth that has more military and economic power than the U.S. If there was, what would we do if that nation decided it needed to enforce its form of government and its beliefs on us, and seize things that they needed and we happened to have a lot of? That would be a real pain, and I bet we'd all grab our shotguns and do our best to run them out of here. Think about it.
4;26, If some of our fanatics went to their country and blew up buildings and killed thousands of their citizens and we harbored them and allowed them to train here, I would imagine that country to take action against us. I would grab my shotgun allright. I would point it at the fanatics and turn them over to the opposing country when they came calling. Think about it.
These deaths were "civilian" security people. There have been 700 of them killed and 7,000 wounded in Iraq. These don't count in the normal body counts. But they are they are real and they are costing us big bucks in addition to our military expenses in pursuing this debilitating, unnecessary war.
Before this is over, our children will be pressed into an involuntary draft, the rich and affluent will be provided away to escape serving, and the poor, minority, and defensless will be shipped to some ,as yet, unheard of counrty in the name of "patriotism" and "defending our country. I know this because history says that is what will happen, as far back as the Romans, and we are proving right now we do not learn from history, recent or ancient.
Goober - We do not learn from history! That is obvious. Somehow in the President's brain (LBJ, Nixon, Bush) there is a thought process of, "I am a better leader. I can create a different outcome."
4:11 here; let me reiterate please using key words for those of you in Newark:
We stabilized world economy.
We are currently and successfully preventing the Islamofascists from gaining control of the aforementioned economy.
We accomplished these tasks by military means under Republican leadership.
Our enemies have sworn to destroy our nation. Should we allow them to carry through with the threat?
How much oil is coming out of Iraq? I could care less as long as the bad guys aren't filling their coffers with the profits. Indeed, an excellent job has been accomplished... but perhaps not as excellent as that foisted on the American people by media propaganda.
Sheehan, If it's all about the oil, why don't we invade Saudi Arabia or Venezuela? Please stop with the "it's all about the oil." The sky is really not going to fall, OK?

Speaking of lost causes.
Why don't you keep a count of the people injured and killed by the druck drivers you put back on the road?

Did this happen in Iraq or New Orleans?
