It's Friday. Let's Get Out Of Here.

The Family Cat and I  will have a talk tonight about doing bits.
Wise County? Trinity River?
I'm not sure they are doing it right.

Who amongst us does not like Randy's Donuts?

Get Me This Blind Dog Playing In The Snow!!!

At Least It's Friday For Her

Random Friday Morning Thoughts

  • I walked out of the bathroom this morning ready to go to work, Mrs. LL was in bed, she's on her phone, and she's looking at Deadspin. I've created a monster.
  • The Eighth Grader in House thinks I'm crazy because, as I was dropping her off for school, I was laughing out loud at The Ticket talking about how it would be a great idea for Major League Baseball to put a cow in the outfield to trick it up.
  • The 9th Circuit, as everyone with a brain could predict, overturned Trump's Muslim Ban.
  • Let's check in on the Toddler-In-Chief. Buddy, you lose every time in court. (And he went ALL CAPS. You never go ALL CAPS.)
  • Oh, and he's after the New York Times again this morning. #YouOwnHim
  • My goal for him remains the same: Don't get all of us killed and I'm good.
  • There's no way I can explain it, and I can't find it on Fox 4's website, but Steve Eagar reached a new low interviewing a $30,000 millionaire last night at around 9:10 p.m. . Anyone have a link? It was gold. I'll devote a whole post to it if I can find it.
  • And speaking of horrible reporting, this Channel 5 reporter refers to Dallas as "D-town" (you ever heard of that?) and thinks that it can become a farming community.
  • Random Obit: His "life served no other obvious purpose, he did not contribute to society ... and he possessed no redeeming qualities."
  • There's a chance disgraced Baylor President Ken Starr could join the Trump administration. That's all Trump needs: Someone with no sound judgment.
  • "We won't be . . .

What The . . . ????????

The Tarrant County DA's office once cut a deal of five years for a Wise County woman convicted of solicitation of murder after the jury sentenced her to a twenty-five years.

D.A. Sharen Wilson needs to fix this.

Edit: The Texas AG's office prosecuted this case? The guy under indictment?

Random Thursday Morning Thoughts

  • I received a comment that two very active commentators from a long time ago were now divorced from their spouses and now married to each other. Is that true? (Email me.) If true, I truly hope they are happy. ("Liberally Lean -- bringing people together for almost 10 years.")  Edit: This sentence has been edited after a commentor called me out on how horribly worded it was originally. Thanks. But maybe that commentor will also find love someday.
  • I love all you guys who thought that just because Zuzu was buried in a shallow grave means she was murdered. Think, people. Think!
  • This is the guy who shut down  Sen. Elizabeth Warren reading a letter from Coretta Scott King during a debate on Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
  • All cops in Wise County are mic'd up these days and recorded on DVD for any case that is filed. Some irrelevant conversations that are recorded give me great entertainment. Example: When a guy who was arrested started talking about a great Mexican restaurant a cop replied,"Was it Pulidos?"
  • Let's check in on the Toddler in Chief this morning. He's attacking a war hero for no reason. Incredible. #IfYouVotedForHimYouOwnHim:

  • Eighth Grader in the House to me last night: "You know that 'immigrant' can be spelled with an 'e' and it means someone leaving the country, right?" Me: "That's not true." And from there, it all went downhill as she and Mrs. LL did a happy dance.
  • Kellaynne Conway looks like she is on meth.
  • Jane McGarry might rival Christie Brinkley:
  • I forgot to mention that I correctly predicted Jerry Jones would get into the Hall of Fame. Once again, proving I'm a Sports Genius.
  • On Friday, I posted a censored comment of someone who was very angry with me. Someone commented on that post that the guy had to be crazy and I that should look out for a "truck full of fertilizer" showing up. This is what was outside my always vacant parking lot by my office this morning.
  • Funny tweet I saw yesterday: Which will come first? Trump being impeached or committed?

I Might Have Seen Him In Walmart. Not Sure. Could Have Been Someone Else.

I like the way he tricked up his skinny beard. That makes the whole facial scene come together.

Easy D?

Me. At this moment.

How Dumb Is He?

Trump just promoted his daughter's business. And then he used the official Twitter account of the President of the United States to retweet it! (Once you get past this crazy unethical conduct, you have to wonder why he doesn't realize he has more important things to be concerned about this morning.)

The Big 12 Just Slapped Baylor

Random Wednesday Morning Thoughts

  • Fox 4 had a graphic last night during a story about Zuzu which read, "College Student Murdered." Has that been established yet?
  • They also had a story about a road in Decatur ISD's jurisdiction which is so bad because of potholes that school buses can't go down it. (It looks like it is a private road.) Didn't the County Commissioners decide to annex and maintain a road going to David's Western Wear off of 287 a couple of months back? Priorities?
  • So Sen. Elizabeth Warren was shut down in the Senate yesterday for reading a letter from 1986 by Coretta Scott King in opposition to Jeff Sessions -- then a federal district judge nominee and now the attorney general nominee,  Nice optics, boys. (Note: He couldn't even get confirmed back then because of racist views. And that was in 1986. It was hard to be considered a racist in Washington in 1986.)
  • When Trump spoke in front of the  CIA’s Memorial Wall a couple of weeks back he said the had been on the cover of Time magazine more than any other anyone. What a lie. He had been on it 11 times. Richard Nixon was on it 55 times. President Obama was on it 12 times in 2008 alone. And why do his followers not care about his habitual lies?
  • I don't need to run for a local election. I need to be a behind-the-scenes campaign manager. If I could only get my friends to say in public what they tell me in private.
  • Trump this morning. They need more weapons? They are already militarized.
  • Trump said this morning that the Judiciary/Separation of Power is "politics" in the case about his Muslim ban:
  • He may be the greatest gift that Liberally Lean has ever received.
  • Lt. Governor Dan Patrick wants the Texas Rangers to investigate the theft of Tom Brady's jersey. I agree with Craig Miller of the Ticket: He is the biggest moron in Texas politics in the history of ever.

Christie Brinkley At 63 Is Making America Great Again

Trump Wants To Destroy The Career Of A Texas Lawmaker

That lawmaker wants to reform the law regarding civil forfeiture where the  government takes money and property even if there is no criminal conviction. (Even that goofy Texas Supreme Court justice has strongly suggested that it's time for reform.)

The Sheriff might be referring to State Senator Konni Burton who is very conservative, very pro-Ted Cruz, and very anti-Trump.

Edit: As of 10:00 p.m., the Sheriff is such a coward that he still won't tell us who he was referring to.

The Senate Just Confirmed An Education Secretary Who Has Never Gone To A Public School

Every school teacher and public education worker should be horrified.

No Offense, But That Is One Fat Snake

Story out of Florida.

Things Are Fine. Just Fine.

Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts

  • It's going to be 85 today? My sinuses are not pleased.
  • After watching a DPS traffic stop video yesterday, there is no question the troopers now have license plate readers.
  • Trump says the media is "under reporting" terrorist attacks. So what does that mean? Press Secretary Sean Spicer cleared it up for us:  "There’s a lot of instances that have occurred where I don’t think they've gotten the coverage it deserved." Umkay. Like the Bowling Green Massacre?
  • Let's check in on the Toddler In Chief this morning:
  • He just violated the "Oh, yeah? What about you?!" rule.
  • Zuzu's body has been found. And it is fascinating that the cops haven't charged the boyfriend with murder but only Abuse of Corpse. That means they have a very, very weak murder case.
  • Oh my:
  • Baylor's new strength coach was arrested for solicitation of prostitution in a sting operation and promptly fired. Side note: How is prostitution a crime in 2017? (And I saw where BagOfNothing went on his millionth anti-Baylor rant today. Dude, give it up. You can only have so much hate.)
  • Hot Movie Opinion: Star Wars and its sequels are mindless drivel.
  • I'm not sure why Weatherford College treats Wise County like a red headed stepchild. You're Weatherford College.
  • This obituary for a 19 year old in the Jacksboro newspaper got my attention because of one sentence. And then I saw this article about her death which, in case you don't know, references fans of Insane Clown Posse.

When He Tweets About The Media At 10:32 a.m.

. . . we need to seriously be worried about whether or not he is becoming unhinged.

Am I The Only One . . .

.  .  . who thinks these "win probability" charts are BS. I could see it going 75% or so to Atlanta in third quarter but there is no way it gets even close to 99%.

Random Monday Morning Thoughts

  • Mrs. LL was very confused and very mad about the NFL overtime rules. (She's used to the college rules.)
  • The halftime was sponsored by Alfa Romeo? I had no idea they still existed.
  • I finished the 30 for 30 on the XFL. Vince McMahon and Donald Trump are the same person.
  • And Tommy Maddox was a big player in the documentary. Does he have a chance at the Bridgeport job?
  • Speaking of Trump, in defense of Putin's killings his response was "You think our country's so innocent." I actually agree with him about something.
  • And he called a federal judge, appointed by W, a "so called judge" this weekend.
  • BagOfNothing found a Trump Executive Order Generator
  • You always hear commercials this time of year refer to the Super Bowl as "The Big Game" because the NFL will come down on you hard for trademark violations. But didn't the NFL try to trademark "The Big Game" a few years back. I ask only because I saw a lot of Fox and ESPN folks referred to it as The Big Game which I wonder if they were directed to by the NFL to eventually get the trademark.
  • Lady Gaga kind of hot? Yep.
  • I had no idea Morticia  Addams of The Addams Family was in the Ten Commandments. Edit: Make that Lily Munster of The Munsters. (I think that's an understandable screwup for a Monday morning.)
  • I have a book by Art Briles. This is the inscription. I cannot tell you how sad this now makes me.
  • I was told there was a "Drug Checkpoint Ahead" sign in Bowie on 287 on Friday. Anyone have a pic?
