380 is one huge deathtrap. Especially now that in the afternoons the road is reduced to one lane going east/west bound. You have to stop, and wait in line until all of the cars pass, so you can continue going west toward decatur. It is ridiculous. From what I hear, 114 is pretty bad too. But 380 is lined with crosses all the way to McKinney!
Both my spouse and I commute 100 miles a day and 380, 287, & 114 are all death traps. I have been involved in several near miss/death experiences. Not only are the rock trucks bad as always, but it's worse now with all of the oilfield trucks that have no clue anyone else is on "their" road. People ask me how I can stand rush hour traffic in the city and I say, "Once I'm out of Wise County, it's smooth sailing".
Just think, our comioisioners not only neglect the roads of Wise County, but they also want to strip the citizens of a decent EMS/Rescue service for when such horrible events occur....You know, we should give them a raise...... oh wait they already gave THEIRSELVES a raise!!!!! What excellent leadership we have in this county in this County!!!!
Hey have you seen the gas prices lately? we needed to give ourselves a raise!!!!!!fuel cost's go way up when your setting in your truck with the AC on watching your road crew work all day!somebody got to do it!!!!
The entire section of 287 through Decatur is a death trap. The on-ramps and crossovers were not designed to handle the amount of traffic they get. Un-fortunately the highway department only decides there is a problem by the number wrecks and/or traffic deaths. A few more people will have to die before they decide it needs fixed. Any volunteers?
Just because someone complains doesn't mean they should run. If you voted, which I did, you have earned the right to complain. If you don't like the complaining, I suggest you find aother blog to read.
Do I really have to go read another blog? It's a free country so you can't stop me from reading this blog. Why can't we just all get along? I don't like the complaining nor will I stop complaining about the complaining. Nanny, nanny, boo, boo.

When I moved to Decatur, one of the first places we looked at a house was just off 380. I'm often thankful for the decision to not buy there.
