I'm no business guy, but the impending bankruptcies of Delta and Northwest don't seem like a good sign.

Not to worry. Unlike your business or mine, the fed. gov. will bail them out, assuring the stockholders they have nothing to fear while divesting their employees of any hope of a comfortable retirement. Don't you just love compassionate conservatism.

Let them perish. They've been inefficient and outmoded for decades.

Government intervention for inefficiency has never historically been linked to any sort of conservatism. The New Deal might be a new vocabulary word.
