Stuff People Will Never Know

At John Roberts confirmation hearing today, there was an odd scene. Cameras caught Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) working on a crossword puzzle during the day. But when it came his turn to speak, he became emotional and "seconds after asserting that 'a super-legislator body is not what the court was intended to be,' " he paused and wept." Those are the politicians that drive me insane. And need to be voted out of office. There will come a day when honesty and candor is all that voting public cares about. (By the way, I found this picture on his official web site. Sheesh.)

That is absurd and sickening. I hope he does get voted out of office. He'll have all the time in the world to do crossword puzzles then.

theatrics in politics? What else is new?

And we buy what's fed to us.

At least some do!

I noted the rolling eyes of Roberts while he was waiting to speak.

Boredom?

Bet you every right wing "patriot pastor" in Oklahoma said "Amen" during his performance! This guy would have no problem in telling all of us exactly what is on God's mind. Agree, he needs to go!

Politics is all about the money. They all are less than honest and generally just not terrific people. I think that tends to be true of most rich people too. They have to climb over others to make their money and power. THE MAN IS HOLDING US DOWN.

Just saying. And sheesh I am a conservative.

Having watched a little of the Demos "opening statements" a crossword puzzle would be a better use of time. Overexposure to BS like that would make reading the yellow pages interesting by comparision.

Unfortunately, he will probably stay in office because of lack of voter turnout. It seems we have (on both sides) many voices who scream loud but don't get out there and vote. I think we ALL need to rally behind people (politicians) who DO represent the good and stand up for what they believe in even if it's not a good political move. Grandstanding and even flipflopping are both disgusting to me and when politicians do that, they might as well wear a sign on their back that says "no backbone". Bush Senior USE to be Pro-Choice by the way. Politics changed his morals. Hmmmm.

Maybe he examined the issue and changed mind. If a politician wanted to be honest he would have an open mind and be subject to change not just take the party line.

Well, I'd be doing a crossword until my turn too. I mean, c'mon, most people would rather be watching that 'Nip n Tuck' crap over tuning into confirmation coverage.

I always consider taking a magazine to budget meetings for the city, but take the "I saw!" into consideration first. So, this guy didn't.....big deal....

I once saw a gal with her knitting project in a courtroom.

And folks are always sketching in there.

Boredom does things to folks!

So crossword puzzles remove your emotion, resolve, and right to serve with Biden (who cheated in law school) and Kennedy (who should spend his career working for stronger bridge railings).

Oh, geez Louise, where's that rolling-of-the-eyes icon graphic??
