Bold New Information World
In checking the Update this morning, it looks like Rhome is thinking of spending some big bucks for a combined library. I wonder about the future of libraries in general. I mean, with the click of the Google search button, I have more information available to me at my desk than any library could provide.
And I don't even have to know the Dewey Decimal System.

Not everybody (especially in this backward county) has a computer. The library provides internet access, too.
Sometimes I'd rather have a physical book in my hand than having to carry around my laptop or print out the pages.
I would also say that occasionally you'll get a good-looking librarian, but I have to remember where and who I am talking about.
What happens when the electricity goes out?
If they added a coffee bar, they would be more popular.
That will never happen because they don't want coffee spilled all over the books. Great idea though!
Obviously you guys haven't been to the library lately. Check out Denton Public Library and Carrollton Public Library coffee bars; you can even drink your coffee in the library! Even in Wise Co. the Newark Public Library has a 'Novel Cafe'. They treat patrons to coffee, soda and cookies occasionally for patron appreciation day.
FYI: Wise County has several "good looking librarians"
