There was a news report last night that there are quite a few registered sex offenders from the New Orleans are now in these shelters and of the 1000 or so, only 3 voluntarily let authorities know. Housing is going to be hard enough without having to deal with background checks - but they gotta do it! Lesson #1 that needs to be learned from this story and what I have told my children. When something like that happens - call 911 -don't call me first - call 911!!!

We all know this is only the beginning of a string of more incidents to come.

awww, but i thought we all feel sorry for those people who chose to live in a hole in the earth.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. It was happening in the Superdome. Did everyone think those people didn't get evacuated too. I think we will see quite a bit more of stuff like this. It is my understanding they turned out the prisons once it started to flood.

This why i dont want the evaqcuees coming into Decatur

Amen to that. I think they should pack them up and pay all of them to clean New Orleans up themselves. The gov't has to pay someone to do it. But then again, they wouldn't get their government handout if they were actually earning a living.

I would hope that if I (or)you were ever in their position, that someone would offer us a safe, dry place. How would you feel if it was your family needing the help?
