My Last Ted Kennedy Post

President Obama has ordered the flags lowered on all federal buildings but there is conflicting evidence as to whether Gov. Perry has done the same. As of 11:30 a.m. this morning, the courthouse in Decatur looks like this.

Hoffa's revenge?

I think our President did this just to show respect to Senator Kennedy, but I'm not sure this is the right thing to do..........

....perhaps at courthouses in Kennedy's home state and even the federal building where he served..... but all over the United States?

Jarhead said...

Lower the flags for God's sake. The man was a United States Senator. Who cares what Rick Perry says? They're all douchebags, but they deserve respect for "serving their country," whatever that means these days.

Either way he was an elected official, for better or worse, he gets the honor of a half-staff [insert joke here].

Hell even Granbury had their flags at half-staff yesterday morning.

We're all still Amer'kins, right?

Anonymous said...

Let's see he is not a Texan and supports OBAMA. I see no reason to lower the flags

Is the county courthouse a federal building?

Anonymous said...

We should have been flying the flag at half mast when that POS was alive.

God bless Rick Perry.

12:40, don't be a hater. It's okay not to like the President or the Senator, but why do you say such a horrible thing? What's your point?

And if your so unhappy with your elected officials- why don't you run?

Anonymous said...

12:40
They would, only if GWB will get it out of his!

Barry, the people of Wise County scare me. Are these comments are for real?

Anonymous said...

Conflicting evidence?

RP ordered Texas agencies to lower flags to half staff yesterday.

I think leaving the flag at full makes the entire county look ignorant and disrespectful.

Anonymous said...

Oh no the world might be coming to an end. I actually agree with Jarhead. The flag should be lowered!
I found the "rule", it reads:
On the day of death and the following day for a Member of Congress.

It's amazing to witness. Barry posts a photo and types two sentences. That's all it take to see the pure hatred and ugliness found in a lot of folks. I get that many of you are just trying to be funny. But this outpouring of hatred doesn't help anything.

Anonymous said...

Must not be as many Christians in Wise County as I thought. Instead a bunch of hating radicals.

Suzanne said...

Wow! Some truly disturbed people comment here. Have some respect.

Anonymous said...

Some of you are so awful. You wouldn't like it if someone said those things about y'all. Have some respect.

Anonymous said...

i got a copy of perrys order to lower them yesterday. i guess wise county is waiting to get it in the mail.

Anonymous said...

I think the whole half-mast thing is ridiculous, anyway. I don't really give a damn about any public figure who bites it, and I think the flag thing is just stupid, any time for any one.

Jarhead posted: Lower the flags for God's sake. The man was a United States Senator. Who cares what Rick Perry says? They're all douchebags, but they deserve respect for "serving their country," whatever that means these days.

Maybe we should leave the flag at half staff all the time to honor ALL those who serve the country, and die every day...

God Bless our men and women who serve our country, risking their lives every day.

Anonymous said...

I hear all the "staffs" in Granbury are "half staffs".

I'm just sayin

Anonymous said...

The flag will be at Half Staff if the Turf deal goes through. Can we put up a big cross and a flag for Obamma and Teddy

Anonymous said...

Now, if we can only get rid of the Kenyan I can turn my flag right side up.

Anonymous said...

Kennedy showed no respect when he left Mary Jo Kopechne to die. Why does anyone want to show the murderer any respect by flying the flag at half mask.

Anonymous said...

It is difficult to respect someone who got drunk and killed a girl and worried more about his political prospects than he did the girl....respect is earned.

And hate is a perfectly legitimate emotion.

Anonymous said...

Do we lower the flag when any senator dies or is this just because Obama thinks he was the greatest senator that ever lived? If it is not protocol, then I think Gov. Perry under the 10h amendment has the say.

Anonymous said...

You holier-than-thou asses. You don't give a damn about Mary Jo Kopechne. Her death simply provides you with ammunition to attach a democrat. If that incident never occurred, you would attack Ted Kennedy (or any democrat) with just as much venom. If Ted Kennedy had been a republican all these years, you guys would be defending him with your last breath. Your judgments are entirely based on political affiliation, nothing more.

Have we ever lowered a flag for a Senator?

Anonymous said...

Wrong, 3:57. The entire Kennedy clan have a history of womanizing and murder. Check into the Marilyn Monroe death and Bobby and John's involvement. That's still in question. Perhaps if they hadn't turned up so many times in questionable circumstances, they might have engendered more respect!

Anonymous said...

Ole Ted is one of the biggest reasons this country is so far in debt. No respect for him. No half mast.

Anonymous said...

3:57...I have never attached a democrat. Come to think of it , i really don't know what "attaching" a democrat is!

Anonymous said...

a "LOT" of hatred in the USA, huh?

1:16, this country needs more hating radicals, hatred for what this country has become. Maybe if there were enough so called hating radicals, then we could take this country back, and once again become a great nation, and what I mean by this has nothing to do with race, religion, or sex, or party affiliation. It means we are sick and damned tired of the government trying to control every aspect of our lives. The 535 members of congress can run up an 11 trillion dollar deficit, and what do we do we keep electing them. Ted Kennedy was a senator for forty-seven years, thats ridiculous, congressmen should have they same shelf life as the president. The Federal Reserve needs to bo destroyed, they are the most crooked organization on the face of the earth. Until this country does a 180 from the way we are going, we are and will remain the laughing stock of the world.

Anonymous said...

Last post? promise???

If not, I will wake you up, every morning...at 3 am.....

Oh wait, I already do that....

Double Fake Sandman

Anonymous said...

5:23PM, I personally have attached a democrat, many times actually. I still do it frequently.....in the late evening, after the news, and under the sheets, with the lights off, typically, but not always. Nothing kinky though, because I'm not a republican.

Anonymous said...

Hopefully we can finally be done with the Kennedys. Ted Kennedy is the equivalent of Jimmy Carter being assasinated and Georgia electing Billy Carter to the senate for over 40 years. Total douchebag riding on his brother's (who rode his father's and the rumrunner fortune) coat tails to a cushy spot in government. Hopefully we will have heard the last of this pathetic family once the media's orgasm subsides.

OMG!!! get over yourself...the guy gave 47 years of his life to America..You want me to support the troops and I do but this is BS...support someone that has given their life to the USA...Look at education, and civil rights...

Anonymous said...

James R. Hoffa did more for the American working families than any kennedy.

Anonymous said...

748 please feel free to move out of texas..you liberal mf'r..!

Anonymous said...

7:48???

The guy GAVE 47 years???

I think he sold those years. Near as I can figure he got more than he gave. Good riddance.

Anonymous said...

7:48 he gave nothing, he was rewarded handsomely over the last 47 years for his "giving". They do it to help people, they do it to make a difference, they are just humble public servants. Take away the pay, the perks, the notoriety, pay them no more than your local elected officials, know see how many want to be a senator. Ted Kennedy was a senator for 47 years, because that was the only job he was qualified for: a liar, a cheat, and a murderer, plus the pay was excellent, and the benefits were better than working for google, so please don't kid yourself.

Anonymous said...

We wouldn't lower the flag for Bernie Madoff or Charles Manson when they die, so no half-staff for ole Teddy Kennedy

Anonymous said...

He gave 47 years to his f####g ego.We dis't fly the flag at half mast for Mary Jo and Marlyn Monroe. Why is he being buried on sacred ground? Was he in the Boy Scouts or what?

Anonymous said...

GD BG WTF..I bet you wish that fat bastard had not died and caused you to find out how all these good folks in the WC feel about that NGMFR..!

Anonymous said...

Burn in hell you fat bastard Teddy.

Anonymous said...

There are some real sickos out there. I have never seen this much hatred as I see out here. There is no working together when it comes to politics and what is good for all.

Anonymous said...

10:27 - "There is no working together when it comes to politics and what is good for all."

Sure there is...it's called communism. Sorry it's been a proven failure where ever it has been tried though. And, yes - even China will eventually topple in on itself. Of course, it may outlast the U.S. this time depending on how long the OB is in office and how many of his programs get implemented.

I can only hope that this blog’s vitriolic blathering toward Kennedy is not truly representative. The blind ignorance displayed on this subject seems limitless.
