Yep, even Texas DPS has a Twitter feed and this gem (above) just got posted. I can't find a single news story about it, so that's all I know. But if the government is going to try and take a quarter of a million dollars from someone, I'd kind of like to see a reason as to why.

Can't they just take the money anyway, no reason neccessary, if it's over $10,000?
After my police officer friend warned me about that...I remember sweating bullets every time I had that amount of cash on me to pay the subs while building my casa.

So if I just rob someone with that kind of cash on them is it not considered to be a crime? Assuming I survive it?

I guess it was an oversight on DPS's part that they didn't run the decision through Barry Green, chief arbiter for all the "oppressed guilty parties".
