Uh, Not The Common Man

WASHINGTON -- Looking pretty is costing John Edwards' presidential campaign a lot of pennies.

The Democrat's campaign committee picked up the tab for two haircuts at $400 each by celebrity stylist Joseph Torrenueva of Beverly Hills, Calif., according to a financial report filed with the Federal Election Commission.

FEC records show Edwards also availed himself of $248 in services from a trendy salon and spa in Dubuque, Iowa, and $225 in services from the Pink Sapphire in Manchester, N.H., which is described on its Web site as ''a unique boutique for the mind, body and face'' that caters mostly to women.

Edwards is right. There are two Americas: The one he lives in, and the one the rest of us live in. What a hypocrite.

Geeezzzzze!
ANYONE who will spend $400.00 on a haircut and a bad one at that has NO concept of HOW to act in a "fiscal responsible" manner when spending mine/other people's money.

I have thick VERY curly VERY long hair that hangs well below my waist and I have NEVER spent more than $150.00 for a cut, condition, mani and pedi at a salon in Dallas.

he'll fit right in in Washington, he's good at spending other people's money on frivolous things.

A hairdresser who charges that much for a haircut is laughing inside for every sucker that pays it.

Like I've repeatedly said--those people "at the top" in Washington and elsewhere have NO CONCEPT of what it's like to actually LIVE day to day like the rest of us. When was the last time they pumped their own gas, or bought their own groceries and stood in line? We badly need term limits for all legislatures (national and state), because their job is to "represent" us. How can they do that if they don't know what our lives are like?

High-priced Milquetoast. For $400, it should look better too...

As my Nana used to say, "Pretty is as pretty does."

Looks like Ann Coulter was right about this clown after all!

You can say he gets $400 haircuts and lives a life of extravagance. I am confident that is true and enough reason to place your vote elsewhere but if you really want to expose him just tell everyone he is a bloodthirsty attorney. That should be enough to upset his campaign and allow him to draw only the vote of his fellow snakes.

Wow, I thought $11.00 was high for mine.

Good think he didn't get that haircut from NASA. Could have easily cost $6,000.

At least it is campaign money, not tax money.

And to what arm of the RNC do we owe this scintillating, SCANDALOUS information?

I wonder where he would have had his haircut if he had to pay for it out of his own pocket?

i went to walmarts and bought a clipper. just put on a #2 and let er rip. the clipper costs 28$ and i have used it 39 times and plan on using it alot more. i'm screwing someone out of $400 q i use it. hahahahaa
i'm goin to be rich!!!

12:37...I am not sure how your scheme is going to make you rich....sounds to me like you have $28 dollars tied up in 39 bad haircuts, but I guess by Edwards standards you have saved $15,572. By Wise County standards you probably saved around what Edwards paid for one haircut.

Maybe he's after the hair stylists' vote.

I think the $400 included a happy ending.

If I spend $400 for a haircut, lap-dance, massage, etc., I always get a happy ending.

This message paid for and approved by John Edwards!

Are you weenies convinced now that liberals are a bunch of weenies?

John Edwards did NOT prove himself to be a "weenie." However, he did prove himself to be a DOOFUS willing to spend WAY too much money on a bad haircut...TWICE.

Actually, he reimbursed the campaign from his own pocket which was a story from last night but the RWCMSM continues to report on the inaccurate story.

Big surprise.

Edwards Flattens Coif Controversy

If he pays any amount for haircuts
out of his own pocket and not from campaign funds its nobody's business but his and Elizabeth's. This whole story is like the lie about President Clinton holding up an entire airport so he can get an expensive haircut on his airplane. The truth of the matter does not matter; it is simply a Republican way to brand Democrats as being part of the elite and deflect attention from the fact that all the neo-cons are part of the 5% of Americans that control 90% of the wealth.

What's the big deal? I personally think this country needs a gay president and this guy is as good as any.

Did I hear any complaints when Laura Bu$h got her $700 haircut?

mzchief said...

To txsharon...
No doubt, Laura Bush should have been paid FAR MORE in damages than $700.00 for having to walk around with HER craptastic hair style. Oh wait! Are you telling me SHE PAID to have her hair look like THAT?

Laura Bush is nearly TWICE as SUBAReason as is John Edwards.
