See you liberals!! You were told that if you didn't stop those Iraqi terrorists over there they would be over here! Oh wait a minute, never mind.

It will be interesting to find out if the clips in that 9 mm were the reduced 10 shot clips that were legal until a couple of years ago, or the new 19 shot clips that were again legalized thanks to the NRA and their lackeys in Congress.

Get real, 9:17 AM--if there were only 10 shot magazines (not clips, which is something else) in existence, any crazed shooter would just carry more magazines. It's hard to legislate against insanity. Magazines are cheap.

The fact that people are actually trying to play the "Gun Control" issue is amazing. To me that is one movement that is a waste of time. People are better off trying to legalize drugs so they can be taxed heavier than tabacco.

The people who want to do this type of thing or just shoot one individual in a dark alley will still be able to buy guns even if they were outlawed. Its stupid to think otherwise. Just like your child can buy dope at school but its illegal. I just don't understand.

Yeah, let's take the guns out of every law abiding citizen's hand, and then only the criminals will have them...and rest assured, the criminals WILL get them , whether there are laws against it or not...I know it's been said a million times, but it will forever be true, people kill people, guns don't kill people.

those damn guns!!! when will they(guns) ever learn? we must ban them , now!!!
it is not society, it is a small piece of metal/lead/powder. how can the combo be so evil?
and also, while we are at it , we need to ban words. i saw last month where they can ruin lives.

I was wondering how long it would take to develop into a gun control debate. There is no question that banning gun ownership will not stop this type of event. It is just madness. However, many legally owned guns fall into the hands of criminals through theft and other means. Restricting the guns out there make it harder for criminals and kooks to get their hands on them. I'm for that. Better than nothing.

it is scary when people blame technology/science/whatever for evil events that happen as a result of mankinds wickedness.
banning guns/bombs/knives/weapons will not stop/slow down someone if he/she wants to reak havvock.
our culture denounces violence but our society encourages and makes games of it.

Unfortunately I don't believe anything can be done about how criminals end up with guns. Whether it be through theft, black market purchases, or any other means it is just not going to keep anything from happening. If guns are too hard to get then they will be running around hitting people in the head with baseball bats. I just don't see why people want to give up their freedoms when the end result will never change.

9:17 youre an idiot. The dude had on a rambo vest with extra clips and magazines stuffed in every pocket and holder... I don't think an extra 9 bullets in one clip is going to matter much.

Please, please, please you anti-gun people don't come out on this. I see where Rosie 'Bonehead of the Century' O'Donnell has come out with her 'cave of the winds' mouth spewing her vile against guns. (While her body guards cruise around protecting her with high powered rubber bands).

Those evil guns took over Cho's mind and by force took his agency away from him and coerced him into going and shooting all those people even though it was totally against his will. Oh the humanity! When will congress legislate to ban these horrific mind controlling weapons.

Is it just me or does George Bush look like he is grinning every time he is supposed to be showing sympathy for a bad thing that has happened! It looks like a little evil grin!

How about holding the individual responsible for his actions?

Even with all the deaths due to motor vehicle accidents, I don't see a movement to ban cars. The driver is held responsible for deaths due to misuse of the vehicle.

And the Bill of Rights does not confer a "right" to drive cars, although it does guns. Shouldn't our right to own firearms be more protected than our right to drive a car?

Come on everybody, let's boycott the Golden Wok today!!!!

Uhhhh does anybody eat there before we make up all the signs?

Wordkyle exaggerates - again. Please read the Constitution. 2nd amendment says "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

To most thinking people this means the citizens in the MILITA shall be armed. It does not state that all citizens should have weapons. But I agree that in this case, we should hold the perp responsible - not the gun manufacturer.

3:01, It's just you.

Does anyone have a new argument for or against gun control or do you intend to rehash the same old ones.

Hey.. the "not eat at Golden Wok" comment gave an idea! Barry, why not include a place on your blog for an ongoing Wise County Restaurant Critique? Maybe if some of these places knew they were being graded by the residents of the community.....they might..MIGHT...do a better job.(Those that need to). Whatchallthink?

A teacher of this young man read some of his work and knew he was disturbed - tried to warn folks and to no avail..

Ok, so we can't legislate against insanity as 9:50 states, so what exactly do we do?

Do we need weapons AND sensitivity training in our public schools?

Bring it on.

Even the Democrats won't touch gun control during an election year. Although this will give the far left wing another soap box to stand on while they beat their chest. But, who am I but a conservative whore; deceived by morality, speculative dogma and justification.

Personally, I would be glad to listen to their opinions after they have had to go identify their own child at the morgue! Put those parents in a room with a glock and the murderer...then ask them about gun control!

There is no doubt that rich, white men like George Bush are responsible for the problem!

I am wondering why a group of those students didn't try to stop this guy. What are we, a bunch of pacifists? Maybe if there were more law-abiding, gun-toting Americans, one of them could have picked this idiot off before he did as much damage as he did. Does anyone agree with me that there would be LESS crime and robbery if these idiots knew the intended victim was packing his own piece.

"The right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" sounds pretty unambiguous to me. It doesn't narrow it down to "only the militia" at all.

Most thinking people do NOT think it means only the government can have guns -- only the gun-control advocates who want to say "the debate is over."

Save your condescension for someone else.

The Texas concealed hand gun license has in fact reduced crime. (The 1991 Luby's incident will probably never be repeated in Texas)Unfortunately, the concealed carriers cannot carry a weapon on a college or public school campus to assist in stopping an irate alien like this case featured.

Come on,let's not be so crabby and just have some fun.

OK, I'll go first. Have you ever laughed so hard milk came out your nose?

I say we should outlaw Ko-reans.

There will always be nuts and if not with guns with something else. The bigger more serious question is why didn't they lock down the campus after the first shooting. Many lives could have been saved. Someone screwed up BAD

The point is this guy would have gotten a gun regardless of any laws. Criminals get a hold of prohibited weapons everyday, so don't give me that bull shit. Lets don't be foolish just to push our own agendas.
