Good To See . . .

. . . in the Opinion section of the Dallas Morning News yesterday that the paper's official stance is now, for the first time, anti-death penalty.

That dang liberal media keeps getting it right.

Would be even better if the death sentence for murder victims would also be banned. Unfortunately, the victims are sentenced to death 100 percent of the time, and without the benefit of a fair trial or even the slightest chance to prove their innocence.

Once again the libs battlecry "Kill the babies, Save the murderers and baby seals"!!! Go figure.

yea lets keep paying for them to watch tv and lift weights and have a better life then what they did before they chose to kill another human being. I think the death penalty is a good thing to have.

If someone has the psychological mentality or lack of moral fortitude to murder someone else in a fit of rage or search for money then I really don't see where locking them in a cell is going to rehabilitate them mentally enough to not commit the same action again. What do you propose is done with them? Medication? Storehouse them at the cost of the tax payers? I say pave the way for the innocent with the blood and bones of the wicked.

11:13 - and please also recognize that by killing the killer, it does the victim absolutely no good at all. Few of these killers may be rehabilitated, but most of you good Christians insist that God will be the final judge. Why not actually follow what you preach and let God do his job?

Not to mention the death sentence imposed on the families of the victims for the rest of their lives.

They can't move them through fast enough in my opinion.

What about the wrongfully convicted that get sentenced to death? Aren't they murder victims too!?

And let the dang liberal media and liberal weenies pay for their upkeep for the rest of their lives.

Kill them all and let God sort them out

1:17, 11:13 here. You need to learn how to read. Did I say I was a Christian? Did I say I was a preacher? More importantly, did I give a thumbs up to the death penalty? NO on all three counts. What I said was that even better than banning the death sentence for the killers would be if there were no deaths at all.

Anon. 1:17. We agree with you about God being the judge. We are just doing our best to make the appointment with God as soon as possible.

I'm1:17 because all these "good" Christians are a bunch of hypocrites. In the bible Jesus pretty much said he was against capital punishment.

I believe that most people on death row at guilty at least to some degree. HOWEVER, even killing ONE innocent person is to many!

There are about 12 people I would support the death penalty for, and all of them live in this redneck county. Some are my neighbors... One is a pervert/ police informant that shoots animals for no reason.

If he's your neighbor, put antifreeze on his hotdogs.

I wonder if they compare the financial figures on what it saves when a guy takes the plea aggreament instead of going to trial. I bet the people against the death penalty won't try and figure that out.
