Did the same thing some years back to see the National Symphony Orch. & fireworks from the west lawn of the US Capital. It is a beating, am glad I did it once,but don'tknow if I would do it again.
It was a beating. Got there at 1 PM and it was over at 1:30 AM. I was at work at 6:30 AM. Rain drenched us, so we were wet all day and night.
