Firework displays sure haven't changed much in 20 years.

About the RAB display: who was the idiot that mandated all vehicles parked south of 380 MUST travel east, and all vehicles parked north of 380 MUST travel west after the fireworks display Saturday night. Although this did minimize traffic crossing the highway, it merely added to the amount of traffic in either direction, and created an abundance of U-turns during the back-up. As a professional Police Officer, I saw this as unnecessary confusion, more traffic, and added hazard to the safety of all, due to the serious lack of knowledge of traffic control by RAB Police and Fire officials.
Well you know since there is a large multi-laned highway to keep traffic at a minimum and running smoothly. I thought it worked pretty well, being that they have done that for the past three years that I have went and watched the Fireworks. and have reduced getting people out of there in about an hour and a half compared to two, three of four hours like I have seen in the past. I have no complaints and commend the Police Department and Fire Department for their efforts.
Perhaps better not to go to another community's fireworks show and stay home for yours. And what professional police officer calls fellow officers "idiots". You're not a cop.
10:47 - What makes you think they didn't want people from other communities? The traffic flow was designed exactly for that purpose - to get people back out of RAB as safely as possible. It might seem (and maybe was) inconvieniet, but it was an attempt to deal with a bunch of cars all leaving at the same time. Have you a better suggestion for improved traffic control?
I didnt go this year, but it seems to me that the past few years the traffic has not been as bad as it used to be. The wait didnt seem quite as long to get out. My kids just fell asleep in the back and I had a quiet ride home too!

I thought the 4th of July Festival in RAB was wonderful. It was nice getting the community together.

If they didn't want people from other communities, then why did they post a half-page ad for the fireworks?
And of course, speak no ill of others, even when they are incompetent.
The picture scared me at first,I thought they had gone ahead and launched the shuttle with the 5 inch crack.
The fireworks display that we watched at Lake Texoma was the best I have seen in years! They really went all out! Good job SAFB!
