With Ken Lay's body still warm, the rumors have begun:
(1) He didn't die of a heart attack, he killed himself
(2) He isn't dead at all - he's faking his death and is going into hiding.
#1 doesn't seem that outrageous to me.
He got to go to his vacation home in Aspen while awaiting sentencing??? Now that is crazy to me. Shouldn't that have been sold to maybe give some poor guy part of his pension back. I am with think frustrated...If he can keep a vacation home after what he did...he can fake his death. Can't see that crook taking his own life.
How much life insurance did this guy have? Do they have to pay off if he had a heart attack? It's hard to believe a guy of 64 just ups and dies of a "heart attack."
How dare he up and die before the mainstream media got to video him being marched off to prison? Didn't he know that the media has a job to do to provide us with everything we need to know according to them? I say dig him up and put an orange jump suit on him and march him off to prison anyway.
"I say dig him up and put an orange jump suit on him and march him off to prison anyway." Maybe there's hope for you yet, Regan Rip......nawww, forget it - you're hopeless.
Hey, a lot of very greedy people bought stock and expected a lot of money for nothing. Now all those people are ruined, lost all their bets. How awful. I did not lose my money because of Enron, because I did not expect a hundredfold payoff on my dollar from a company that was not producing or creating anything. Nor should you.
9:44 - most of these people who lost their shirts were employees just like anyone else who owns stock in their company. My husband works for a large corporation and has company stock and has worked his ass off to earn and purchase the stock he has and he believes in his company. By God, if the corporate execs in his company ever pulled anything like that crap, I would be fightin' mad. Even though his company has public stock and others can gain or lose from their profits, I would hope neither could get screwed over or robbed from their retirement. What a stupid thing to say!!!

I understand that by dying before sentencing Lay was not technically "convicted." I wonder what advantage would this be?

I'm just so not surprised..."fairytale" ending to the whole damned mess. Perfect for the Enron "novella."
Gawd.

Neither scenerio would surprise me in the least. He is absolute scum and there are way too many just like him. Bush buddies.
