Well, have no fear. Jesus has it all under control, except the part about preventing kids from getting run over and crushed by a giant truck.
Is anyone helping the poor truck driver who has to live with what he saw?
I donated 500 dollars to the family. Do you think it would be OK if I asked for it back?
Hey....11.52. The truck didn't have anything to do with the wreck other than being there when the DRUNK RAN A RED LIGHT. Don't be a prick all the time.
1:32 PM, I don't think that 11:52 AM was really saying the truck was at fault, but was making another shallow attack on God by using the ridiculous argument that "God, if He exists, should have control over everything like a string puppeteer" argument. Which leads up to the usual idiotic conclusion: "Since God doesn't control us like puppets, I'm not going to believe in Him".
At least the driver of the truck, or some other family travelling along the highway at the time, was not killed by the drunk.
A Christian once told me in regards to a situation similar to this that it was just "their time" to go. So I ask all you thoughtful folks out there. If that is true, then wouldn't we all have "our time" to go? Or does God just have times for random people? If we all have times, wouldn't a murder victim have come to "their time"? And if so, how come we prosecute people for murder? If it was the victim's "time"...why do we punish the instrument of God's plan?
If only it were your time to go....*sigh*
2:55 - George Carlin never takes his seat on a plane until he has carefully looked over other passengers to see if anyone looks really EVIL. If so, he takes another flight. Why? Because if he sees a plane full of people placed there by God and some look like they should be "taken", he wants God to catch up with him some other way.
(in answer to the rhetorical question posed by 2:55)Because it's not God's plan. He CHOSE to drink and drive. We control what we do, not God.
I believe that God is in control. Although, God cannot control our decision to disobey him and to act like we do not have any sense. Because of our own stupid decisions and the stupid decisions of others, we often put ourselves and others in danger. When this happens, we always point the finger at God. I think we need to look back at our own choices and the choices of others when bad things happen. The majority of the time one or more of those involved made a bad decision. For example. the person who threw out the cigarette in Paradise had to have known that dead grass will burn. That was a no brainer but he or she did it anyway. It should also be a no brainer about getting juiced up and driving the car. We need to stop blaming God and take some responsibility for the decline in morals and carelessness that we as a society have created.
Does the wife have some culpability in allowing her drunk husband to drive and murder her family? A friend of mine saw the accident in her rear view mirror just as she went through that intersection. Said he didnt even stop. What a complete idiot!
"Because it's not God's plan. He CHOSE to drink and drive. We control what we do, not God."So, in essence, you are saying that OTHER PEOPLE can choose their actions which in essence affect GOD'S plan regarding when individual people die? Or am I confused about that?Let me ask more specifically. If Joe Redneck chooses to get ripped and drive his rock truck erratically down 380, and I happen to be driving my family of 4 girls to brownie camp and to Christian youth camp after that...then he comes over the blind hilltop in my lane and kills us all...was it because he "chose to drink and drive" or was it because I "choose to drive my kids that day", or was it because my kids "chose to be in girl scouts and Christian youth group"/
How did an update regarding a story Barry reported on devolve into an argument about religion?I mean seriously, where did that come from? Talk about out there in left field. I will say one thing, if you find yourself blurting out things that have no relevance to the conversation at hand and the tone that has been set and especially if it revolves around an anger issue with religion, you need help and I'm being kind, you need to hear this and it has nothing to do with my religion or lack thereof. Get yourself some help before you waste another moment of your life.
People that appear angry at God are usually mad at themselves or someone who hurt them they trusted.I'm saddened by either and hope the best for you.
Oh Geez people focus!!!!!!!!!! The little boy is left here on earth and he needs support. He didn't chose this! Support him!
2:55 if you are as smart as I know you think you are you would realise you sound very dumb when you say,"a Christian once told me..." You wouldn't give a rats rear end what that person(if the conversation actually ever happened)actually thought (and it shows) and if you had any intellectual integrity whatsoever you would know that person couldn't speak for anyone else, especially God. If you are going to rant, quit with the childish straw man arguments and get a life, like me.
Still doesn't change the fact that Decatur has horrible entrances and exits off of 287... worse than Alvord, Bowie, Rhome, Sunset, and Henrietta. The DOT AKA Highway Department is pathetic.
I hate Victory Family Church.Double Fake Satan
As a practicing Muslim residing in Wise County, I only have this to say - we don't drink and we look forward to a peaceful time withvirgin maidens.Oh, Pats 42 Giants 14Moshay
Moshay = Genius.Well played, sir. Well played.
Note to self: Never donate to a family obliterated in a car wreck on 287, 380 or most roads in Wise County until the Messenger posts the autopsy results.
Cue MzCreep to explain Moshay to the minions.
towel heads dont drink they just get angry and blow up innocent people and go looking for virgins when they get to heaven
Families experiencing any problem related to alcohol need our help as much or more than anyone because too many people will use it as an excuse to do nothing saying,"They had it coming, why didn't she stop him" etc. What if he was sober and just wasn't being careful? I suppose folks would say,"He shouldn't have had his head up his butt."
Amen 4:34. Thank you for telling it like it is.We just can't keep blaming others for our own actions. It's called responsibility and consequences.God bless you all.
4:45 - you know exactly what it means. I am sad that you keep pointing the finger towards God. I wish you had faith. It is unfortunate that we don't live in a world free of sin, but we don't.4:45, please seek help - seek God - visit a local church.
No matter what the cause of the wreck you should think of the reason you donated in the first place. Was it for the parents? NO it was because of the children. And they are still without parents and they still need the assistance. You didnt help those who died you helped those who are still living that did nothing wrong.
4:40PM, your friend witnessed the collision and didn't stop to at least call for help or render aid? What tent of Christianity is "don't get involved" under?
What did anyone really expect the test results to come back showing that knew Willie Bell. It amazes me that when alive everyone knows you are a piece of crap and is honest about they way they feel about someone but once you are gone you were an amazing person...COME ON!!!! How sad is it that that person was even allowed to reproduce. Then after years of abuse to those innocent children and his wife, not to mention his poor deceased mother and grandmother, he kills them in a car wreck. Let's be honest folks... feel sorry for the poor truck driver he pulled out in front of, his 2 innocent daughters and that poor little boy that has to live the rest of his life remembering that horrible night.
Holier than thou, you are....Metallica rocks!
He's probably a democrat!
The father didn't have the right to drink and drive with his children in the car. The mother does have responsiblity for her children. Not knowing the family but knowing how many people drink and drive, I feared the driver was drunk since he ran the stop sign.He killed himself and his children and had he lived, he would have been sentenced to many, many years in jail. Bad things happen to good people. God doesn't control the highways in Wise County. That is our responsiblity. I served on an intoxication manslaughter case years ago and gave the driver the maximum sentence.
An alternative point of view-------Let's see, IF the world is undergoing global warming created by humans, fewer humans would help reverse the trend. If many of the world's resouces are being streched causing shortages, price hikes and regional/or global conflict, fewer competitors would solve those problems. Folks, the world is not running out of people. On the contrary, we have spent too many resources saving (falsely extending) lives, and it now seems that will ultimately damage everyone, even those of us who never agreed with the concept. All other species benefit from from natural selection and even random events that thin. What makes us think we should be exempt from the rules governing the rest of the animal kingdom? Let it go, don't worry about any of it. 1oo years from now your descendants will thank you for your foresight.
Darwin you are retarded.
it is so simple and could have been prevented!!!!WHY DIDNT THE MOTHER FRIGGIN DRIVE SHE PROBLY WOULD HAVE STOPPED AT THE RED LIGHT. PEOPLE MAKE BAD CHOICES AND IT OLNY TAKES A SECOND TO DO SO..
