NYPD Blue News - Yep, Really.

WASHINGTON (Jan. 26) - The Federal Communications Commission has proposed a $1.4 million fine against 52 ABC Television Network stations over a 2003 broadcast of cop drama NYPD Blue. The fine is for a scene where a boy surprises a woman (Charlotte Ross) as she prepares to take a shower. The scene depicted "multiple, close-up views" of the woman's "nude buttocks" according to an agency order issued late Friday. I report. You decide.

What a terrible deed! No public media should EVER disgrace our airways with even the slightest suggestion that women have buttocks! Especially on a police show. How low can they get?

700K for each ass cheek just seems like a high price to pay.

Are you f'in kidding me? There should be more of that on TV if you ask me. Maybe we shouldn't be all hung up on sex.

I agree with the verdict, too much for regular network TV.

i saw this yesterday on a popular celebrity site and i will take the comment the author left on there..it's ok to show shooting violence, blood and guts, dismembered body parts but you can't show a butt? what's wrong with this picture? absurd! we as a society need to get our sh** together! it's not like they showed a penis or a girls woo-woo or chi-chi's it's a butt for pete's sake~!

I agree with 12:29. I think that I can explain a naked butt to my 6 or 7 year old a lot easier than I can senseless violence. Nakedness is natural. Killing someone is not.

Get over it people.

Thank goodness we have good ol' conservatives running things at the FCC. I hope they dunked her to see if she was a witch while they were at it. If I saw a naked female on TV it could warp my wittle mind.

Hmmmm, did they also get fined for showing Andy's big butt a few years ago? I mean it's ok to show the policeman's butt but not the policewoman's butt?

It's stuff like this that makes other countries laugh at us!

Besides the fact that it was 5 years ago, he is a kid. It's like the nude lady that stood up in her car and waved at everyone. A little girl observed this and turned to her Mom and said "Look, she is not wearing a seatbelt!" He is a kid, and with all the splicing they do, she was most likely not nude in front of him.

Smut! That was completely inappropriate for our children's viewing. I hope that they are fined twice that amount. It's just more pandering to our satanic desires and signals more than ever that God has been shunned by our country.

This is why we need a man like Mike Huckabee in office. He won't stand for this type of garbage. If the law allows this smut, we need to change the laws (and Constitution to the extent necessary) to put God back in our lives. And remember, don't go buying that hogwash being sold by that Morman. Huckabee is God's choice for this election.

hey now, clothed in scripture said... come on now, tell the truth. You're really Jimmy Swaggert, aren't you? Come on, you can tell us.

Just curious Clothed. If your kid accidentally walks in on you stepping into the shower does that mean you're going to hell or purgatory?

What do they call the fine for this--the "hiney-finey"?

I do support high standards for public viewing, but I have never considered viewing the naked human body in of itself, to be lewd---it is the context in which you think of that body which is subject to criticism. The Lord don't make junk....our minds do.

It boils down to less that $27K per station. Just do the math.

Rest assured, 1:10PM, the kid was looking at a camera, not a naked lady.

I did see David Bowie's naughty bits on DirecTv the other day in "The Man Who Fell To Earth" - I can't believe I never caught that part before.

Isn't the FCC still controlled by Bushbots?

Good trolling, clothed in scripture.

Part of the fine the FCC said was because it showed "sex organs". In my experience it can be, but you better be one sweet talking son of a gun!

not only do we see the naked butt, but also that lovely gap - wow
