It's a little small, but a faithful Chico reader sends in this pic and his thanks to the firefighters who stopped the flames before it reached his house.
Edit: The Star Telegram had a pretty good pic . . .

And the Star Telegram has posted a video taken from a helicopter.

The Star Telegram has a new article about yesterday, and today.
Where in Chico was it?
On 101 north?
I cannot believe that the ST drove all the way to Chico to get that pic!
It was on my place 3 1/2 miles north of Chico. The Star Telegram beat me to it. I was at work in Bridgeport and heard about a fire near my place and decided to take an early lunch.
It was a good thing I did! I am the luckiest man in the W.C. tonight! It melted the underpinning, broke 5 windows and melted 2 gas cans full of gas sitting under my front porch but did'nt ignite them.
Other than that my house is OK.
Complete story and all my thanks on my blog.
BTW, Thanks Barry!
rpm, glad your house made it ok!!!
If I have the same magnitude of a fire 15 miles away from another, where is my county goat savers? OH, that would mean my "Chico Community" needs a big HEE-HAW; THANK U. GREAT JOB GUY'S WITH LESS THAN HALF THE PERFORMANCE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SENT 4 U. THANKS AGAIN.
Thank U Chico Community, Crafton and the Sunset. U saved alot with everything dedicated to the Paradise fire.
