Observations: - Budget 10% of the household budget for gas if you are Bridgeport or Decatur fans. - Stupid question: Have Boyd, Chico, Alvord and Paradise ever been in the same district before? - Oh, yeah. There's always Northwest . . .
Yes, Barry. We have had all 2A schools in Wise county in the same district. The UIL just breaks them up every now and then. It's good times when the Decatur Messenger can cover that many teams by going to only two games.
Actually, I predict Vernon and Burkburnett will take the ##1 & 2 spots next year, with Bridgeport and Decatur fighting it out for the final playoff spot.
Wonder how those Alvord and Chico AD's are liking the hand they have been dealt? Unless they can go recruit some of Decatur's or Bridgeport's bench warmers, guess they will have to compete for next to last in '08.
why does alvord have to recruit from decatur or b'port? what makes you think these two towns are any better just because they are bigger? sheesh get a grip...
Abilene Wylie's district is always competitive with Sweetwater & Snyder in it and now they have Brownwood! They may move to the small school division-would that mean Decatur would play Brownwood in the 1st round?
oh you poor spoiled decatur darlings, what, you have to travel over 20 miles to a stinkin football game? Look at District 1-3A, with Levelland (near Lubbock) in the same district with Borger, Dalhart and Perryton - all 200+ miles ONE WAY!
11;23, Not only do I remember when N'west and Keller were in Decatur's district, I was a Decatur athlete and played against them. awww... the 'good ol' days! (Swore I'd never say that cliche) Times have certainly changed since then. I'd go back in a hearbeat!
Can't middle school choose to hold pre-season games, and then just have a district tournament somewhere in the middle of all the schools, distance-wise, so the young 'ens don't have to travel that far on weeknights?

can we please get rid of Brock and Peaster
I know everyone will say, thats why you play the games. But doesn't it look like Boyd could play the JV fella's and get tot the play-off's every year.
good news, automatice bi district champs for Bport and Decatur as they will have round 1 byes....
bad news, look at district 8-3A. I predict no playoff wins for district 5-3A in the next 2 years!

What happened to Southlake? Did they move them to the Big 12?
All right!! Argyle preppies get to beat their heads against Celina's brick wall the next two years! Serves them right!

Old age test:
Remember when Northwest and Keller were in the same district as Decatur and Bridgeport?
Double Fake D.E. Jones

The Bridgeport and Decatur kids are sure gonna get tired of eating at the Pioneer in Wichita Falls.

or look at District 2-5A, which includes the Amarillo schols as well as San Angelo Central, about 350 miles ONE WAY!
