And just as sure as the sun shines, someone will be on the news tonight saying "God was looking out for us" when their home was somehow spared from a fire. I just wish one time that person would point to the houses that did burn and add "but I guess God got those people over there".

At least we have your blog to get updates. Thank you, Barry.

My hubby is at the scene (friend's house in Stonegate) and that the fire fighters are doing a great job keeping the Paradise fire at bay right now. They have lots of equipment and have built barriers in specific areas. So far the fire has not come over the hill into Stonegate.

our internet is down at home, so with all the power outages, perhaps that is was the WCM is down.

NOTE: all evacuees have been taken to the boyd community center, and red cross is near the paradise ball fields where they are accessing the damage and helping all the familes who lost their homes to fires.

Uh, stop wasting time with religion bashing and do something useful. Normally I'd be right on board with you but now it's time for you to shut up.

I remember the great Montague County fire of 1959. Not really, I was just a baby, but was told about it. Does anyone else remember it? It pretty much burned the whole freaking area down. It was all Lucille's fault - burning trash in March in Texas - duh!

Do you have a problem with god? If you do I feel for you.

Please do not make this into a slamming contest....PLEASE put all of these people whether they lost their house, barn, or everything was saved into your thoughts & prayers!

2:39 - I remember that fire - took out my family's barn. But I didn't remember hearing who started it. Guess that was an old memory put to rest.
Just called a family member who remembers watching it from a house as almost burned up Montague.

Our thoughts and prayers are for the people with lives, both human and animal, at risk in these fires.

2:16 PM is just another one of those shallow "I'd believe in God if he'd just make the world and us into string puppets" people. They have an extremely small view of God. Face it, this world just "ain't" perfect, and bad things DO happen to good people, sometimes.
