I was looking at some files a second ago in the courthouse and looked up. It just kinda struck me. Lots of ghosts in this place. (Phone camera pic)

Hope you don't have one of those 14 year olds helping you right now....

Yes there are. The ghosts of all the families that have been crucified in "family court" at the folly of the blood sucking attorneys. I hope they haunt you day and night.

The very people most in need of introspection are the ones most terrified by it.

There are a lot of stories that could be told about ghosts. Somebody told me once they found an old boy sleeping in the district courtroom. Funny how he got in there undetected and wasn't found until morning. He must have been stoned or drunk, if this is a true story. Who in their right mind would want to spend the night in that place?

Course, that may be a "ghost" story too.

Many years ago the Sheriff's Office was located in the courthouse basement, the "Sheriff's Department" consisted of the Sheriff and 2 or 3 deputies, and the radio dispatch was manned part time by college students, many of whom were friends of mine. Some of us would often keep the dispatcher company (and awake), playing cards, monopoly or other board (bored) games, down by the radio. Some nights, in the wee hours, long long after the rest of the building would have been locked up and shut down, ... the elevator would start going up and down, of its own volition. And once, one of my dispatcher friends - when he was working there alone - claimed to hear the laughter of children echoing down the stairwell. He searched the building and of course found nothing.

So ... are there ghosts in the courthouse? I'm of an open mind.

The Wise County Sheriff's office has NEVER been located at the courthouse. Other than that it is a good story...
