What was she doing in a war zone? Was she in the military or a civilian contractor -- doing what? What is the point of posting this dead girl's picture without any details?

Unfortunately, people get killed in wars. If you had chosen to honor this young woman by telling us something about her or her situation, it would have been more appropriate than simply posting the picture. You've pulled a Cindy Sheehan on us, Barry.

She apparently did not realize and has not been listening to President Bush et al that a great many people living in that part of the world believe that killing Americans is their only mission in life, whether on their soil or ours. She probably was idealistic, thinking that if only we could "reason" with these people they could see the light of democracy. She listened to too many people along the way, and never should have been over there.

there is a large number of leftys who have a vested interest in americas defeat, and will do anything to get it.

Hey 9:02, very funny. We already setttled this. "There ARE a large number of ...". Not "there IS". Get it?

Though I must applaud you on your sparing use of the apostrophe. Most of your ilk tend to use the apostrophe quite LIBERALLY.

Anyway, Barry, I don't know what you were trying to do by posting this pic, but I think it's at best confusing and in poor taste. I get the sense you are making fun of her, even if you don't mean that, and that is pretty cheap and low.

For those too lazy to google a little bit:

"The Washington-based National Democratic Institute identified its slain staffer as Andrea Parhamovich of Perry, Ohio. Contractors from Hungary, Croatia and Iraq also were killed in the ambush Wednesday. Two other people were wounded, one seriously.

Parhamovich, a graduate of Marietta College in southeast Ohio, had been working with NDI in Iraq since late 2006 as a communications specialist advising Iraqi political parties on how to reach out to voters and constituents. She was helping "build the kind of national level political institutions that can help bridge the sectarian divide and improve Iraqi lives," NDI said."

Thank you for the information. How sad and tragic it must be for her family. Lets all pray for her and hope what she was trying to achieve will become a reality.

She was there to try and train the Iraqi government on democracy, ironically enough.

Barry was just trying to show everyone that death in Iraq has a face. It's not just our military people who have chosen to give their lives for their country who are dying. It's cute, blonde girls as well. I'm sure most of you were shocked when you read the link. It's all about shock and awe with Barry...and the facts.

If you're a civilian and stupid enough to go into a war zone then you're stupid enough to be killed or wounded.

maybe we should be teaching less grammer and more history.

I too, think it was in poor taste. When deciding if I wanted to click on source, I thought it could be something sexually related. And then when I read she was dead..like I said poor taste.

Pick your bumper sticker, or make your own. Here's a few to choose from. Sadly, it appears this poor dead girl did not choose number three:

2) That's OK, I Wasn't Using My Civil Liberties Anyway
3) Let's Fix Democracy in This Country First
4) If You Want a Nation Ruled By Religion, Move to Iran
5) Bush. Like a Rock. Only Dumber.
6) If You Can Read This, You're Not Our President
7) Of Course It Hurts: You're Getting Screwed by an Elephant
8) Hey Bush Supporters: Embarrassed Yet?
9) George Bush: Creating the Terrorists Our Kids Will Have to Fight
10) Impeachment: It's Not Just for sex Anymore
11) America: One Nation, Under Surveillance
12) They Call Him "W" So He Can Spell It
13) Whose God Do You Kill For?
14) Cheney/Satan '08
15) Jail to the Chief
16) No, Seriously, Why Did We Invade Iraq?
17) Bush: God's Way of Proving Intelligent Design has flaws.
18) Bad President! No Banana.
19) We Need a President Who's Fluent In At Least One Language
20) We're Making Enemies Faster Than We Can Kill Them
21) Is It Vietnam Yet?
22) Bush Doesn't Care About White People, Either
23) Where Are We Going? And Why Are We In This Hand-basket?
24) You Elected Him. You Deserve Him.
25) Impeach Cheney First
26) Pray For Impeachment
27) The Republican Party: Our Bridge to the 11th Century

Get our troops out of that liberal hell hole New Orleans. How is that chocolate city thing working for ya School Bus Nagin?

Wish I had enough bumper space for all of these. Don't show 'em in Wise (redneck) Co. though - most here can't read or don't yet get it.

She was in Iraq attempting to do what Bush only talks about. She was working with Iraqis to develop grassroots democracy. Unfortunately, that "country" is mired in civil war and unable to even begin a peaceful, lawful society. Her death is a loss but her idealism is commendable.

i am going to say thisw one more time : 'not one american life is worth the whole country of iraq. not a single one !!! '

Take up the white man's burden
Send forth the best ye breed
Go, bind your sons to exile
To serve your captive's need;
To wait, in heavy harness,
On fluttered folk and wild
Your new-caught sullen peoples,
Half devil and half child.

Madeleine Albright allegedly made the following silly remark: "There is no more sacred roll of honor than those who have given their last full measure in support
of freedom." Let's see, Andrea Parhamovich went to Iraq to transmit US military plans, troop
strength, positions, etc., to the enemy and got killed. Doesn't this make Parhamovich and her colleagues spies and/or traitors rather than heroes?
