I had Prof. Klouda at The Criswell College about 6 years ago. She was a very caring teacher, and an incredibly accomplished woman. This makes me embarrased that I went to a Baptist institution, but relieved that I'm no longer a part of the Baptist world. I hope Dr. Klouda will find a place to teach that will appreciate her gifts.
If they had made a policy not to hire women then I wouldn't agree but I would say it is their decision. The fact that they hired her and she obviously was well qualified leads me to believe a vocal male got his knickers in a twist and decided to get rid of her.
If it were not for women then Baptist churches (and others) would have failed long ago.
That same Bible also reads that on the sixth day God created males and females, not "Adam". Adam came later, after God realized there was no man "to till the soil"...after others had been created. It's right there in black and white...go see for yourself...but try to tell a Baptist that Adam was not the first "man" created. Just love selective religion, don't you? Bible probably also says you should get a fair price when selling you sister into slavery...or we should cut out people's eyes if they lust after another...hey let's either go all in or all out with this Bible stuff.
There ain't no equality, people! Never has & never will be. Barry, you're a real piece of work. Since no one wants to abide by God's law (or can't agree to what it is anyway), then we are left with man's law which is administered by people like (yep, you guessed it) Barry.
Wait, let me guess. All the men there were having immoral thoughts and it's HER fault? I hope they are happy with their decision after she sues the HOLY SHIT out of them.
The whole story doesn't make sense. She receives her docterate degree from there, they then hire her for a teaching position but then tell her they won't renew her contract because of her gender. Absolute craziness. And this happened in 2004, why the delay in this being made public?
If you are a true Christian, and want to follow the bible then the men opposing this are correct. Like it or not. How's your bible stumping feeling now?

Barry, you are a woman. Now shut up and go make me a sandwich.
UNbelievable!
It is their right to be the deciders and their right to follow the Bible as they understand it. The woman can go some where else to teach.
Are they going to make them start wearing burkas and walk 3 feet behind them and forfeit their drivers license?
Sheehan, You can no longer post that pic. Put on your Burka and hide that hideous face.
I think Sheehan is holding a cheap tampon behind her head.
Many good MEN of the cloth use that Scripture to try to bring women into subjection to their husbands.
The Bible can be used for control purposes. That is wrong.
Folks oughta think for themselves.
Sounds like a bunch of Baptists are doing that.
Good for them.
And to the rest - it won't work for long fellas!

A Baptist mistreatment of a woman leads to personal attacks on Barry?
You know why you always take 2 babtists fishing with you ? Because if you just take 1 he'll drink all your beer !

Islam. The religion of peace. Learn it, live it, die for it. Kill all those that are infidels. Treat your women like dogs.

Talibapist at work.........
It will be interesting for the Baptists and this verse of Scripture, if Hillary Clinton wins a future Presidency.
Unless he's become a Methodist, last time I read about it, he was still a Baptist.
This thing could get really interesting.

Please people read it in it's context!
