The Decatur Coaches performed a miracle with a very limited group of athletes. This group barely deserved to dress for varsity. They deserve to be compensated for their work.

It was obvious that Kennedale had reviewed many films from this year. Decatur's achilles heel has been their inability to stop the run right up the middle. It would be interesting to know how many touchdowns were scored like that for the year. Just a quick handoff-boom-gone for six.

Competitive salary? Isn't it approaching six figures as it is?
Talent? Quit blaming the kids. Using that logic one might advance the theory that the "winning seasons" were the product of kids so talented that even poor coaching couldn't screw it up.
Turf? Will make the Decatur Elite feel good for the short-term, then they will need something else. As in indoor practice facility. As in new stadium.
Those unhappy with Story might as well chill out. He is here for the long, long term. He owns the board.
Spend you energy and prayers hoping for a group of kids so talented that poor coaching can't screw it up.
I have an idea! How about in Wise County we decide to set the example, be trendsetters. Imagine if everyone in Wise County supported every Wise County Team!
(assuming of course we are not playing each other) I am from Bridgeport and would love to see All Wise County Kids do WELL!
Also, if you don't like your kids coach, do something positive about it....but don't bash them or our kids on these or any other sites.
Wise County is full of talented kids and great teachers and coaches, we are blessed people to live where we do. I say Go Bulls and Go Bulldogs! For you kids that are starting basketball...good luck and play hard. You only get to be a kid for a little while, enjoy every second of it!
Decatur has a good program with a dried up talent pipeline.

I agree with 11:55, we need to give our support to all Wise County teams. The ones that lost should be given credit for getting where they did and we should give our support to the teams playing next week.Remember these are Wise County kids and it doesn't matter who they play for.

if brownwood hangs 60 on bport how much would they put on decatur --- 100+. it is always very telling about character, when after the loss of a game the only reply you can make is "well well i bet yall get beat really bad next week " chances are decatur gets beat really bad in basketball NEXT WEEK while the bulls are playing FOOTBALL. hahahahahaha

I am a captain on the Alvord Football team. We had our own meeting, and decided to play. We wouldn't have had it any other way. Those girls would have loved to have been there and we played for them. It was our decision to play, the administration left this up to us. Hico sent flowers with their condolences.
