Wow, somebody should have caught that!
At face value, the strip is harmless, and his apology and explanation should defuse any resentment. If you have any knowledge of the strip, you know that the spiders are insulting, stupid, and always get squashed. This particular installment isn't out of characterSome of the comments after the story were amusing
Further proof our society is crumbling when veterans can be somehow offended by that!
Garfield has been pretty lame since the late 1980s (it was funny in the late 1970s and early 80s), but yesterday's strip was actually amusing, IMHO!
garfield rocks. people have no sense of humor any more...chips on shoulders the size of boulders.
The creator didn't know the strip would appear on Veterans Day in the first place. He wrote it nearly a year ago. The publication chose to publish it on Veteran's Day. Veteran's need to blame them.
Just an unfortunate mix up! Garfield only hates Odie.
Pfftttt is all I have to say about that bullshiate. I think we all should quit dwelling on war and killing and death. It's appalling to me that we humans keep choosing to worship, celebrate, revere, (ad nauseum) the evils of war and hatred and differences. I would hope that we can eventually transcend that kind of behavior.
4:06, Veteran's what? You left out a word.
Cute comic strip. Bad timing.
