Not much of a story but it is here.

It's not surprising that Decatur had someone tossed from the game. That happens about every week, but than again they learn how to act from their coach STORY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is such a good role model.Way to go Decatur. Please don't beat me up for saying this.

Sickening! Absolutely sickening to read that DHS football boys were involved in a brawl on the field! I've been to many many games in my life and when tempers flare, the coach sets that player straight or sits him down! Evidently tension was mounting and NOTHING was done? Were the kids ever told that if they got out of control they would find themselves on the sideline or better yet, in the field house suspened for the rest of the game? Don't anyone say this brawl could not have been prevented or that Story and his assistants couldn't have done anything. That's total BS! I know they could have, I've seen it "handled" time and time again by coaches. Seems like the past several years there's something about some kid on the team (or kids) whose behavior on the field is not acceptable behavior. Why does this happen so many years at DHS? Is that NOT the coach's fault? Story needs to be FIRED for this incident. UIL should put DHS on probation, and I'm pretty sure that decision is forth coming. Never known a team to brawl on the field and not receive suspension from the UIL. Then what will you do school board? Sweep this under the rug? Pitiful now that Decatur has the reputation of those "other" schools that were well known for their crappy sportsmanship on the field. This is NOT what the citizens of this town expect or want. Get a coach in here that has some class!

Answers? I don't know the questions. said...

I don't know Coach Story but we have a similar question on my blog.

Double Fake Coach Story

Were any of you actually at the game? I can't believe you just "assume" that it was Decatur's fault!

I was at the game, most of the pushing and shoving was being done by the Castleberry players, and they were the ones that cleared their bench long before our young men did. Our players only went to the field after theirs were pounding on one of our boys.

Doesn't it mean something to you that SIX Castleberry players were ejected and TWO Decatur players? (One of those for apparently double flipping off the Castleberry crowd.)

And after the event both sides played well with sportsmanlike conduct-after the SIX troublemaking Castleberry players had been ejected.

I was THERE, I SAW it and it wasn't Decatur's "Fault"-it really wasn't anyone's "fault" mostly just young men in a physical game. If you weren't there stop commenting in something you don't know anything about and making a fool of yourself.

So, were you all at the game, those of you making these accusations? How do you know OUR coach isn't the one who kicked the kids out of the game? How do you know OUR kids did or didn't start it? If you've seen Decatur football games for many, many years, then you know what Castleberry ahs been capable for for many, many years. This sadly, is to be expected when we get into Castleberry territory, and if you've been around all these years, then you already knew that, didn't you.

Barry,
Having been on the vistors sideline for the game and speaking with the officials after the incident. It was 4 from decatur and three from Castleberry with another Castleberry kid bring thrown out by the CHS coach for flipping off the DHS team after they made it back to the sidelines. Ive got more info if its that big a deal.

If DHS is on probation then they wont need a football field to play on HAHA. ONE AN DONE!! I say. Lets see how the new "STACKED" school board responds to this?

7:09, obviously you didn't get my point! Let me try to say this where you might can understand it. It makes no difference who STARTED it. A coach SHOULD instruct his players to WALK AWAY when someone on the other team is starting crap. Then tell the coach and let the coach inform the referees so the referees can do THEIR job and keep those troublemaking players off the field! For the last few years DHS has fielded quarterbacks (supposed to be the team leader) who threw tantrums on the field. A pattern has formed that indicates we have a coach who is NOT CAPABLE of fielding a disciplined team! People like YOU who support this "well we just cleared the bench to take up for our other player(s) that were being hit" are exactly what fuels this type of conduct among players, fans, etc. Where do you folks think you are...NASCAR amongst the other idiots? YES, I've been around to see those 'other' schools that have those reputations, but strangely enough, there has NEVER been a all out brawl until THIS YEAR! Guess that means that before, the coaches had a handle on keeping their kids in line! I had a coach in school that was one hell of a coach and we knew that if we messed up in anyway, we would not be just punished, but OFF THE TEAM!! We were told that if we cared enough about our PRIVILEGE to play, about our teammates and about the town we represented, then we would walk away from anything that would bring shame to the same. Guess what... we did walk away when trouble tried to begin. Referees were allowed to do their jobs because they were informed of what was taking place and redneck bruhahas DID NOT HAPPEN!! I am sick for Decatur, sick for DHS and sick of people like YOU who think it's just fine to make excuses for INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR!

Hey 5:30 how is it living in Wise County being gay and all?

Hey 8:25 (Mzchief impersonator) how is it being such a douche that you have to try to get some balls by saying you're Mzchief?

5:30 happens to be right on!!

and if you're looking for gay...try San Fran area, ok?

Anonymous said...

Mz,

I dont understand where 5:30's comment makes him gay.

Anonymous said...

Whoa 7:34. I don't support anything like this, and I discredit you when you put words in my mouth. You quoted me, "well we just cleared the bench to take up for our other player(s) that were being hit" and for that I discredit anything you said. I never said anything close to your false quotings.

And furthermore, if you saw the video, you'd know that several of our coaches plain as day were instructing our players to stay on the sidelines (watch it and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about it).

I can use all caps, too, see: I AM SICK OF YOU who left DHS, don't have kids there anymore, no family still there whatsoever, and you still can't say a nice word abut them. I am also sad for you because you obviously still have a bone to pick no matter where you are, and that's just plain sad. DHS isn't what it was when you were there - it's way better.

Anonymous said...

Not on of the finer moments in Decatur history!

I hold the school board accountable for a total lack of institutional control.

Anonymous said...

Decatur Board Member Doc Aling was on the sidelines for the show.

Anonymous said...

Where can you see the video?

Anonymous said...

9:12, you just read an article in the Ft Worth paper and guess what school is named right along with Castleberry? Decatur! Two schools brawling on the field. Now Decatur isn't any better than those Castleberry types. Get it?

Anonymous said...

I have no family there? Says who? And what makes you think I left DHS? What makes you think I even attended school there at all? Never said I did! Maybe you better reread my comments. I'm blaming the head coach for this. It's his responsibility. I'm not picking a bone with DHS, I'm sad for DHS because it isn't anywhere close to what it used to be. If you don't support "anything like this" then stop making excuses to excuse it.

This is a coach that has lost control of his team......he doesnt punish a player who misses practice, the kids act like they want to. He didnt allow this 8 years ago...WHAT HAPPENED?????

Anonymous said...

I was at the game. I saw the brawl. It looked like the Castleberry coaches threw their players out and the Decatur coaches didn't throw any players out until the Castleberry coach questioned the referee, then the Decatur coaches threw a couple of their players out. Does anybody have a video of the on the field fight or the post game ruckus that happened outside by the field house?

We are proud of our boys and their fighting spirit

Seems like every athelete that comes out of dhs thinks there gods gift..until u punch there in the mouth, then they go and and get 15 of there friends to fight u... Decatur players will always be a bunch of whinny babys. And its no suprise something like this happen...hope u drops the hammer on them!!!!!!!!!!

The "classless" person is the one who comments on a blog under a fake name and calls another man classless by name. What a coward!

If you were at the game, and you disapprove of the coaches' behavior, then go call them out in person.

If you were not at the game, you have no right to an opinion. You do not know what happened.

The way coaches handle kids is different from the way our coaches handled us. Kids are different now, not because of coaches, but because of parents and society.

All of this will be over after the first round loss anyways. Kennedale will give them a beating.

GO WILDCATS!!!!!

It about time they showed some spunk

Do board membes actually go to games

Anonymous said...

I was at the game. I really didn't care about the fight. As long as my son gets to play I'm okay with the Decatur coaching staff.

Anonymous said...

U didn't hear about it at the messanger because it's based in decatur...they probably hve kids on that team

Anonymous said...

8:34, your rational is pathetic. And, by the way, blogs are for discussing and posting opinions on any public topic. Duh!

Anonymous said...

fights happen all the time. if my teammate is getting his ass beat im ganna jump in. if your not on the field playing dont talk shit to the players.

Anonymous said...

6:53 You are obviously of the same caliber as the castleberry trash. I would be ashamed to admit I was proud of my boys for fighting. That is NEVER right, and ALWAYS displays poor sportsmanship and a trailer trash mentality. Those who are too stupid to use words rather than fists lack the level of class that folks like you could never understand. Go back to your beer guzzling, Nascar, and trailer.

9:03 The Messenger is too busy reporting on stupid things like some dude who carves action figures. I can't believe the low level that paper has sunk to since the Eatons sold it. Plan on letting my subscription lapse.

10:26
You were bullied in school...in the band...never invited to parties...and get off on posting dumb ass comments on this blogs. LMAO, your probably responding back to yourself on this post.

9:15
I know you would rather your son play than the team win too.

Anonymous said...

11:11-To be honest with you, yes I would. I don't care about winning or losing. I want my son playing and getting recognized. I've lived here all my life and that means my son deserves to play!!! It's just football.

Anonymous said...

so i get it your just living vicariously thur your son because your prob sucked... nice!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

11:17 ...who cres if you have lived here your whole life! If a family moves in and he is better than your son, then deal with it! Thats football!

Anonymous said...

I'm not 11:17, but I agree. There are many citizens out here who don't give a damn about our football team winning or losing. Frankly, I don't care if we even have a football team. I am a woman, my sons played, and I detested football when they played throughout high school as well. It's a GAME folks...nothing more, nothing less.

Anonymous said...

bridgeport players did the same thing in 7 on 7 football two years ago. i guess that makes the BHS coaching staff just as classless.

jus sayin...

Anonymous said...

I remember a coach at DHS telling people "His football players didnt drink" LOL. That was after one of them got his ass kicked for mouthing off drunk to another classmate. If you played football at DHS, you never had to worry about grades, or failing.

decatur sux.. go bulls..

8:34's comment:

"The way coaches handle kids is different from the way our coaches handled us. Kids are different now, not because of coaches, but because of parents and society."

And that is exactly the PROBLEM!

Hey how bout I tell u happened everyone who commented first there was a player from castleberry who was blocked well. He was then agitated and threw a punch at our player then after the punch cb players rushed to the field after one decatur's player's helmet was thrown off at took a punch to the face Decatur went on to the field to DEFEND themselves so now if u thick that u know about how it went down when u weren't there shut up maybe cb should be on probation just bc we defended ourselves doesn't mean we messed up so shut ur pipe hole and move on. I was at the game actually watching so don't mess with me.
