Headline Chaos In The Messenger's Sports Section Tomorrow

First up, the story about Boyd making the playoffs had a reference to the Alvord Bulldogs.
And on the story about Alvord, there's a reference to the "Bulls" (presumably of Bridgeport) in the headline.
So it only makes sense that on the story about Bridgeport is headlined by a reference to the Boyd Yellow Jackets.

Hide yo wives, hide you children, hide yo husbands, because there's going to be some yellin' goin' on over there!!!

I remember driving down 157/Industrial southbound sometime back, and seeing an electronic message sign in front of the CVS or Walgreen's that said "Trojans Are The Best".

Thought it was pretty blatant.

Then I realized it wasn't CVS/Walgreen's sign - it was Chicken Express's.

Across the street from Trinity High School.

I bet they say Decatur will put up one heck of a fight!

One thing for sure....

Those boys are fighters!

7:19...How can you fight when you don't even have a turf field to play on? Boyd was losing all year until they got the turf, it fixed all their problems and made all their wildest dreams come true!

The proofer must have fallen asleep.

At least college football requires a team to win 6 games to qualify for bowl games (Note: UT may not make it this year). What a joke for a 2 or 3 win team to make the playoffs.

The question here is: Who writes the headlines? The stories seem correct but that writer doesn't do the headline.

Boyd, Bulldogs, Bulls...what does it matter? They are all one and done!

Alvord defense will be short some players this week...looks like you may be right 10:30.

The Bulls will win it this week.

Next week looks pretty impossible.

WHO CARES!

Exactly - 11:28! They make such a big deal about "making the playoffs in football" and don't hardly mention that fact that Decatur and Alvord Cross Country teams go to Regionals and State every year. No special pep rallies, no chartered buses. Chico was the only one that celebrated other sports besides football. They may not be about to win on the field, but at least they celebrate the teams that do win. When was the last time any Wise County football team went to state?

this is what happens when sports is no longer a priority for the wcm. by the content, it hasnt been for a year or so, for whatever reason. got a publisher and editor who are not really what they think they are and a creeper sports reporter and picture taker guy that cant mutitask and cover all of our schools, and now he doesnt even know our mascots.

low-budget paper

The sports page of the WCM has been a joke as long as I've been in the area. It's like they proof everything else, then just assume no one cares if the spelling/grammar/teams/etc is correct in the sports section. The last guy was a joke, and I'm starting to question Greene.

Go ahead and try the Turf field and see how long it takes for the rollback election to take. I think we need the rollback started now if you have extra money. JUST TRY TO RUN THE TURF DEAL IN AN SEE WHAT WE DO.

If Decatur can't win, they will get everbody on the field to kick your butt. Thats something to be proud of.

Apparently 12:23 forgets about the 2004 State Champion Boyd Yellowjackets.. yeah, it's been 6 years but who else in wise county or bordering school has won a state championship, much less 2?

Does the West paper headline read, "Trojans Anxious to Penetrate Bulls"?

That would be awesome.

Anonymous said...

4:39...It will read "Bulls Wear Out Trojans With Repeated Penetrations!"

You are both disgusting!

The new guy at Chico is a TOTAL AD...he cares about all sports. Story, Henson and Neighbors do not. He is at every function our kids patrticipate in, he is fair to all groups. He even made an appearance at the Pee Wee Football games and then let us use his field for pee wee games Monday and Tuesday.Do you think Neighbors , Story or Henson would allow the pee wees to use their fields. I can promise he wont ever tell his boys to miss a pep rally nor will he let the JH girls programs fall off the map like Story has.The next best thing is in Chico......if only he had some athletes
