Update From China

Channel 5 did a story last night on Jackie Murphree who is in China undergoing treatment. You can watch it here. So tragic but so hopeful.

Hey, why couldn't they get the same care in the US? I thought we had the best health care in the world?

Oh that's right, we don't allow that eeeevil stem cell research, and it would have been one million dollars instead of $40,000.

Actually we did allow stem cell research...just not government funded.

Barry, thank you for posting this. Many have been supporting this family and wish the very very best for this beautiful young girl.

Hey 10:54, why don't we take a positive outlook on this situation. Do we not have enough negative right now? I know that I am happy that she is alive today. Lets be supportive and not bash our country and government every post.

That video touched me in a way I didn't expect. I'm someone that knew Jackie before the accident, and I haven't seen her since. Seeing her like she is now was very difficult and really made me realize how awful this really is. We should all count our blessings each and every day. The little things we have wrong in our lives are nothing in comparison. God bless you Jackie and family!

Sad day for U.S.A. when someone has to go to gd China to receive the most cutting edge health care.

We are done.

Wow! Just watch the video you posted. I feel sad, but on the other hand, so much hope. Lot's of good people in Wise County!

My heart ache's for Jackie, her family and friends, but I'm so uplifted by all the caring people here.

Thanks, Barry for the update.

10:54 Motard, this procedure is not going to work for that girl. You read it here first. The fact that it will not work should serve as reason enough for why it's not practiced here.

5:18 I pray you are so wrong. Could take 2-6 months to see the results for Jackie. Expect miracles!

Call it liberal if youw want..USA should have stem cell avaliable. get a life USA. It is okay to be Christian if it is not one of you own. If it was your child you would not think twice about stem cell...where ever it came from...

It's not uncommon for different countries to cooperate in different medical research scenarios.
It's no different for different countries to collaborate for other types of research. You want to go where that specific treatment researched.
Many people travel to Houston for special cancer treatment.

When your mom tried to beat her heroin addiction....she checked in to a "drug hospital".....not Decatur Memorial.

That fact that you started your post with a made up word calling people with hope and belief a "motard", tells everyone reading that you need treatment as well. Too bad the US doesn't offer personality transplants, you are the perfect candidate!Get a life! Positive things happen for those you believe in positive results!
