Instead of making fun, why don't you post the medical information regarding swine flu and standard influenza to show the difference.
This is getting out of control. If the damn news agencies could find something else to report no one would care.

It's sad but, true- you have to look long and hard for non- sensationalized info. on this subject.
It's a flu friends and loved ones. If a normal flu was going to kill you because: you very young, very old, already sick etc. then yeah, this one will kill you. If you were going to live no matter how much you may pray for death because you're so miserable then well, you re going to live.
The only caveat is there is no vaccine. Studies show less than a third of the US population report getting vaccinated for the normal flu season anyway and the vaccine is cheap and statistically 100% effective when the right strains are anticipated.
Find something that's real to worry about if you need to worry yourself about something.

It seems like the folks posing as leaders have gone hog wild and pig crazy over swine flu. The big boys in D.C. let Loony Joe Biden out of his cage so he could add to the media circle jerk and stir up more panic.

Not sure if this is correct (like that ever stopped anyone from posting here), but I read today that in the last three days, 1 person has died of the SF. Around 250 have died from complications of "normal" flu. IJS.
You are correct, 4:27. Actually, 36,000 died in 2008 from the regular flu. 4:18 must be listening to the media/political hype. Probably is a ploy by the Obama adminstration to make his health care bill more palatable.

One of my students has cystic fibrosis. He is scheduled to take AP exams next week, but his parents are very worried about any exposure to this strain of flu.
That made me a little less irritated with what seems to be knee jerk reactions...

4:33, I was basing my perception of the problem from the info. on the CDC website instead of a bunch of Bozos on a blog.
I posted the numbers under the random Tuesday thoughts if you care to look, but it is simple math and probably over the heads of most of the people that post here.
It is possible that this could be a bad thing.
