The First 100 Days Of Obama

More and more people are believing that they country is headed in the right direction. And, as "Barack Obama approaches the 100-day mark with rising economic hopes, the best job approval rating at this point in 20 years, [and] the broadest personal popularity since Ronald Reagan . . . ." (Saw this on This Week With George Stephanopoulos.)

Whether Obama has us going in the "right" direction or not, the public thinks he does. This illustrates just how far from the American mainstream many posters to this blog are.

In small print, "ABC News/ Washington Post. More lies. Apparently they did not interview the unemployed oil/gas field workers in Wise County.

Going in the right direction? Depends on how that's defined. First, the "people" by and large do not have a clue, and aren't qualified to assess the economy. If taking money from my right pocket and putting in my left pocket means that my financial situation is going in the right direction, then I guess so is the country's. If paying off a credit card by using another credit card improves someone's financial situation, then I guess our country is cured. Of course opinion polls are going to be high. Poor people love it when people with money get slammed down. That is, until the poor people realize there is no one left to create companies that employ them, to pay taxes that feed them, etc.

Do you find it odd that out of those polled only 21% were Republicans?

It may be a little slanted...

Anonymous said...

Tell us about it again in two years when we start to see what effect printing a few trillion dollars has.

Anonymous said...

Denny, currently only 21% of americans admit to being republicans.

Anonymous said...

11:01 - you: "People, by and large, have no clue."

"People" have no clue, but you do?
OR
People that disagree with you have no clue? THat's what you really mean.

The poll accurately represents my views. I am so happy we have an intelligent, educated president at the helm at this very crucial and complicated time in our history.

Denney Crane said...

That's the MSM spinning the poll. It fits their agenda better than saying 21% of those polled were Republican.

AP had a similar poll earlier last week that included only 19% Republicans.

Where have you been?

chupacabra said...

Whew, that's a RELIEF! Awesome- nothing to see here folks, more and more Democrats think the country is headed in the right direction.

Really, what does that mean?

Anonymous said...

I guess it all depends on who you are and where you live. After he prints enough money to bail out the auto makers, oh how is that working he will print some for the Wise county oil and gas workers. You must be patient it takes a while to spread the wealth.

About that same percentage of people are also fat and continue buying no end of worthlees garbage at the great Wal-of-Chinamart. I'm pretty sure this doesn't turn out well regardless of how giddy they are at this moment.

Wow, a poll saying that Americans believe Obama is doing a good job. This despite the fawning coverage in the media, the adoring cover stories in Time magazine (13 in the last year,) the media's smoothing over of his gaffes (and those of members of his administration,) and their ignoring his failures overseas (even with our allies.) How in the world has he overcome all of that glowing media to be popular? (His popularity is, after all, the only point that can be taken from the poll. Can the American public really be sold things?) Here's a different view of Obama's first 100 days.

Where is everybody??? Finally get a day off to do nothing but read The Blog and not much to read today.

Hello?

BTW, Obama kind of scares me. I can't explain it. Does anybody else feel this way?

1:00 PM,
That's your racism creeping up on you. You might want to try to evolve out of that.

We're a ridiculous country. A study was just released with the AMAZING result that dinosaurs and plants once lived above the Arctic Circle, and that area was once a whole lot warmer than it is today. REALLY? Gee, I thought all that petroleum up there was deposited by MAGIC. I can't wait for the next study, currently underway, that is examining whether or not dogs like to chase squirrels.

RasmussenReports.com is a respected polling site that gives the real picture. Like Barry, ABC and the Washington Post are cheerleaders for Obama.

All together now, let's point and scream at those who disagree with the new administration, "RACIST, RACIST, RACIST!" until someone comes and gets them to be taken away for "reeducation."

Get back under your rock, Wordie.

lol 1:43,
1:00 didn't say they disagreed with Obama; they said they're scared of him, inexplicably.

Thank you 1:43 and to 1:21-No, I'm not racist at all. I grew up in the Houston are, rode the bus with black kids, African Americans, what ever you want to say... I lived in a Country Club addition, others lived in the projects. I point that out only to give the example that no matter where WE lived or what your skin color was, we all got along.
Please don't throw accusations if you don't know who you're talking to.

As a President, he disturbs me. PERIOD!

Anonymous said...

Yeah, Barry!!! Comments, Finally! Guess everybody has finally crawled out of bed. Think I'll open a bottle of wine and see what else gets posted.

Anonymous said...

Denney, I have to say that from every poll I see, only about 20% of Americans claim to be Republicans.

About 45% claim to be independent, although they usually vote Republican.

Anonymous said...

The masses are asses - 11:39 included.

What a bunch of bulls**t? This joker will end up going down as one of the worst presidents our country has ever had to endure.

lovelit said...

I don't know about this whole approval rating thing. Who's being asked and who exactly is doing the asking? I read an article in USA Today that revealed results in the same vein as those appearing on Stephanopoulos' groovy chart. Toward the end of the article: "The poll interviewed 1,012 adults between March 5 and 8. The margin of error was +/-3 percentage points."

Of the roughly 218 million voting aged people in our country, how is it that 1,012 of them are going to accurately represent American's opinions?

There's no such thing as a flawless president or flawless anyone/thing for that matter. But, as a voting, caring, educated citizen I honestly don't know what news source to listen to or believe. That won't stop me from trying and comparing, but as one who was okay with Obama after having voted for McCain, I do NOT get the feeling that we as a nation are heading in the right direction.

And I am sooooo tired of seeing the Obama's on celebrity rag magazines. Photo shoots take hours; one of the two has more important things to do.

Anonymous said...

ABC NEWS/WASHINGTON POST poll and it's not over 90% approval? Obammy has big problems if that is true. My main question is when did the mainstream media stop slobbing his knob long enough to actually publish this?

Anonymous said...

There are some amazingly ignorant posters here. First: polls use scientifically and impartially selected portions of the population and list the probable % of error. Second: the fact that only 20% were listed as Republican represents their % of the general population.

Polling is not represented to be infallible - just pretty accurate within specified limits. And that polling of the general American population yields results much different than you might find in Wise Co. That doesn't make the polls wrong - it just indicates how out of step with America Wise Co really is.

Anonymous said...

Has it really been a 100 days? It feels like it has been a lot longer.

Anonymous said...

Sour grape puggies. Wah wah.

Why do you believe Stephanopolous? He is nothing but a Clinton hey boy whore and George Soros' lap dog. I read Susan Estrich's column (another Hillary lezbo whore) Saturday and she merely made excuses for the poor showing of the omama regime in the first 100 days saying the first 100 days didn't really mean that much. She spent her column just making excuses for the guy. I think people are realizing what an anti-American traitor got into the whitehouse and they are hoping that we can get rid of him before he turns us into Europe.

Lovelit - if the poll is done scientifically with random sampling, only 1000 to 1500 need be polled to ensure the results will be accurate within 3 percentage points (plus or minus). It's the beauty of statistics. All the polling organizations use it. I agree with you - it's hard to believe, but that's what all the statisticians will tell you.

Your high school government teacher should have taught you that.

6:48...thanks for the tip; I aced college statistics. I still can't wrap my head around those numbers, though. And, if we're all so comfortable believing those numbers then why don't we just have 1,012 people vote for president in 2012; I trust they'll be "close enough" to representing America's choice.

Check this poll:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

You might also check out the polls regarding the bailouts and the economy. I don't think Rasmussen and the Washington Post/ABC talked to the same data base.

Was 11:39 am Michelle Obama? It looks like it was typed by a woman with no sleeves and no clue.

This sum bitch started going downhill when non land owners got the right to vote. See where his idiot cheerleaders are when the inflation, followed by the hyper-deflation, sets in. Your Republican bosses who own all of the companies you idiots work for OR, the Repubs that pay in the taxes that fuel the grants and bullshit programs you live off of will have fired your ass and we will be in a state of collapse.

Don't worry idiots, we will find another Ronald Reagan in the next 3.75 years.

wordkyle said...

Hmmm...the poll also "oversampled" African-Americans, indicating that the sampling wasn't quite random after all. With Obama's approval rating with blacks somewhere around 99.9%, I wonder if that affected the numbers?

When 90% of respondents believe he is willing to "listen to different points of view," I assume they meant Iran and Venezuela, and not Republicans.

And although only 21% of those polled were Republicans, 33% said they thought Obama's views on the issues were too Liberal. Disenchanted moderates and independents?

Anonymous said...

Well, 7:01 - they are just polls, just a measurement of public opinion in a snapshot of time. They're not quite the same importance as an election.

But the polls are indeed remarkably accurate when compared to the actual election results, give or take the margin of error.

Propagandist said...

You might want to rely on a less biased poll like the one at Rasmussen Reports and see that Obama has actually lost support from those folks who initially strongly approved of Obama's performance.

"Intelligent" I think good actor is more like it. Come people this man is out to destroy America can you see he already is with his mouth running us down every chance he gets. Why is this man our President Im ashamed and I use to vote Democrat thank goodness some one braught me around in the right direction and I have voted Republican in the last 2 elections. Wake up out there!!!

Propagandist said...

You folks who are claiming polls are scientific and a 1,000 - 1,500 people can adequately represent 300,000,000 people as divergent as Americans aren't even thinking about the fact that the majority of the ABC poll's participants could have been in the north east which is well known to be very pro-Obama and full of dyed in the wool democrats.

The truth is, 58% of Americans think the economy is doing poorly and 51% believe things will get worse. That means, a majority of folks don't have faith that Obama has what it takes to make things better.

Anonymous said...

I want all RETARDS who think statistical charts and graphs really mean a damn thing to raise your hands.

If you asked a group of KKK if they hated jigga boo's they'd all say yep,Nazi's would hate Jews, most people on this blog would hate Mzchief etc. so charts aren't accurate as the info can be very skewed by various factors.

Let the coon and his cadre of queer sycophants have their day. That's what democracy is all about.
If it all goes bad you should have simply armed yourself adequately to correct the situation when it becomes necessary. That's what the second amendment is all about.

Anonymous said...

Oh yea, and if you're swallowing everything that cums across your TV screen you probably failed to stock up on ammo before it became non-existent. Us real men will handle this in the end. The queers aren't gonna be much help, by the way. They cry way too much.

I don't live in Wise county, but Parker. Y'all are much like us, as are the folks in many other rural Texas and Oklahoma counties. All of these areas are populated with a majority who are "out of touch" with the rest of the country and its blind Obama love-fest. Funny enough, they are all way more pleasant places to live and raise a family in peace than much of the country.

Anonymous said...

10:01
You are a disgusting disgrace!

Anonymous said...

Germany had a blind "love-fest" for Hitler. Russia had a blind "love-fest" for Vladmiir Lenin. The news media in those countries were behind their popular leaders. The countries were going in the right socialist direction. Free enterprise in both of those countries was taken over by the government. Did not some guy by the name of Davis have an influence on a young Obama! Will America be another country to fall to those socialist values?

Anonymous said...

I may have missed this with so many comments but isn't this poll saying that of those who identified themselves as Republicians only 27% of them agreed with the statement that the country is going in the right direction. 44% of independents and 71% of democrats. Really about what you would expect.

Anonymous said...

Hitler had a good idea but like so many Newarkians,he let drugs and the Occult mess with his head.

Anonymous said...

6:48 could not agree with you more. Bush 00, Bush 04 is a great example. Republicans would vote for a serial killer running on the Republican ticket before voting for a Democrat that is a Baptist Sunday School Teacher.

Anonymous said...

I can't actually believe that ya'll think the majority of the rest of the country thinks like you. Did you hear there was an election and he won??? You are all so in denial. Most everyone I know supports him and feels he is doing the best he can with the mess he was handed. Of course I don't live in Wise county!!
