Just got word that my first court partner ever in the Tarrant County DA's office died last night while watching television with his wife. He was younger than me.
Edit: The Star Telegram now has an article on him. (But I was wrong about his age.)

No one can confidently say that he will still be living tomorrow. ~Euripides
But those who experienced his brilliant work, or shared a life with him, will always remember him.
I remember him being good-natured, kind and solid. My heart goes out to his wife.
Congratulations, Mr. Barry's First Court Partner. He must have been one of them good lawyers.
What a way to go - just like that (snap), and in front of the TV even.
I remember being taught this little prayer.........
"Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take."
I think, if I could be so bold, in requesting the way I pass on, that it would be sitting in my porch swing, while looking up at the trees, listening to the birdies sing. Snap - just like that - I'm gone. But in my sleep will be just fine too.
I lived through experiences of going away, what a way to go. Peaceful and @ home, Barry no pain and quick. I don't want to sound cruel, but that is the way to go. U will always remember "brilliant work" (thanks C4us one day), memories last 4-ever. Attend and send flowers BU-Bear, keep the chin up. Memories will make u dream the past, good or bad.....
