Hiccup Girl Redux

Since I'm obsessed with how much I think NBC's Ann Curry is the worst TV personality in the history of ever, I was interested to learn that she interviewed the very emotionally disturbed "Hiccup Girl" recently. During the interview, the girl breaks down at the drop of a hat at the mere mention of meeting her biological father. (Man, every guy that ever dates her in the next 20 years will sooooooo have to hear about how her daddy wronged her.)

Anyway, as I steal the line from one of the commentors on the site, it would have really been funny if Ann's line of questioning that sent the girl into a crying fit had also caused the hiccups to return.

Ann Curry & Jane McGarry grate on my nerves...Her and Mike's "chemistry" makes me want to hurl. It looks like to me they hate each other.

The hiccups were fake, she just wanted attention.

Gator, you need to freaking CHILL. Unless you home-school, your kiddo must be gone for a while during the day, so take my advice.....pour yourself a nice glass of wine, put some Calgon in your bath water, soak a while and settle down.....you owe it to yourself.

What galls me about these interviews with "disturbed" folks (check out Dr. Phil, Oprah, etc.) is how well dressed and made up they are for these "outings".

Cheap theatrics and a chance to be in front of a camera.

7:52, we (the public) are the idiots who watch that stuff and cause it to be on TV. Yet we complain. We complain about people or shows we hate, but we watch. We complain about athletes that make millions. Yet we buy the tickets. We complain about high gas prices. Yet we don't buy less. We complain about highways that might be built through our property someday. Yet we happily drive on highways that run through what once was somebody else's property. We complain about mom and pop stores being taken over by the big chains. Yet we fill up the parking lots. We complain about elected officials, yet we don't vote. We, the general public, are just idiots.

Barry, I disagree. I like Ann Curry. She comes across as pleasant and intelligent and I fine her genuine. I will admit that NBC seems to give her interview assignments that have been rejected by everyone up the food chain.

On the other hand, I find Meredith Viera to be appalling. The Today Show is unwatchable when she is on. Somehow, EVERY story has some impact on HER life that she THINKS we NEED to hear about. Vapid narcissism...ACK!

Barry, if you don't like Ann then don't watch her show?! Why you got to be a hater? Change the channel.

Ann forced NBC to send her to Darfur and report on the genocide last fall. She is always doing good, and reporting on the injustice around the globe. I like Ann, and I appreciate her talent.

Amen to 9:25 AM. To quote the old "Pogo" cartoon strip--"We have found the enemy, and he is US"!

9:25 - I like what you said. Great!

I will add just one more to your comment on elected officials that we complain about.

Who has the courage to run for those offices?

Few.
