The story:
A day after thousands of schoolchildren began reciting the revised Texas pledge honoring "one state under God," an atheist couple asked a federal judge in Dallas that the language be immediately removed.
Legislators inserted the language into the pledge earlier this year to mirror the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance.
U.S. District Judge Ed Kinkeade denied the request late Tuesday by David Wallace Croft and his wife, Shannon, for a preliminary injunction to stop the use of the pledge before any trial. No trial date has been set.
The trivia: Judge Ed Kinkeade is the brother of the former pastor of the First Baptist Churth of Bridgeport, Hal Kinkeade.

so
Nice catch.
What does it say on the paper money that we spend? I'll bet they don't have a problem with that!!
I'll bet God has more pressing issues to deal with.
Uh, 8:58, that was added in the 1950s. It hasn't always been on US money.
Oh, you must mean that God nonsense the government put on money back in the fifties to fight those godless commies.
I SAY SEND THEM BACK TO AFRICA
AlLAH BE PRAISED!
Why "under" God? What if we are "over" God. Or "beside" God. As if we know where God is.
I was driving by Radio Shack at lunch today and noticed a car parked on the side that had it's back window painted with the following.
"If you want religion in government, move to Iran".
This hit a nerve with me - but I guess that's my parochial school upbringing kicking in.
Isn't it freedom of religion, not freedom from religion? God doesn't reside only in church buildings, He resides in each of us wherever we are.
These Godless people need a U.S. history lesson to learn about the great CHRISTIANS that founded our country. If you don't want to be with us in God's company, please leave.
7:50 – Apparently it is you who needs a history lesson. Many of our founding fathers were not Christian but some were Deist or atheist. Maybe this is why they included no reference to any particular religion in our Constitution and there has never been any requirement to be Christian or any other religion for citizenship, government service or residence.
If the words of the Texas pledge actually mean anything, are you rejecting the provision that Texas reserved the right to divide into 5 states when it entered the Union? How can Texas be "indivisible" and still retain the right to divide?
10:19 Know all your history: prior to departing the Union to fight the war of Northern Aggression that was the case, however upon forced reentry to to the U.S during reconstruction, the original annexation rights retained by Texas disappeared like smoke from a cannon.
10:13 Thank you.
Our currency needs to read "In the Godless we trust"... and then below that "tap your toe for proof"
11:13 - you fail to recognize that the Union never accepted Texas' removal from the United States. Therefore, the original entry conditions still exist. How about you checking your history?
