How In The World Did I Miss This In Sunday School?

What is Christian Domestic Discipline?

A domestic discipline marriage is one in which one partner in the marriage is given authority over the other and has the means to back the authority, usually by spanking.

A Christian Domestic Discipline marriage is one that is set up according to Biblical standards; that is, the husband is the authority in the household. The wife is submissive to her husband as is fit in the Lord and her husband loves her as himself. He has the ultimate authority in his household, but it is tempered with the knowledge that he must answer to God for his actions and decisions. He has the authority to spank his wife for punishment, but in real CDD marriages this is taken very seriously and usually happens only rarely. CDD is so much more than just spanking. It is the husband loving the wife enough to guide and teach her, and the wife loving the husband enough to follow his leadership. Source.

Ahhhh HAAAA!
KNOW I understand where that pervy Domination & Submission Sex Stuff comes from. It is in the Big Book of Myths and Fables so it MUST be what GOOD Christians do behind CLOSED doors.

Keep in mind boys and girls it is just ME making SNARKY comments about the things RELIGIOUS WACKOS claim are GOD'S WILL and the righteous thing for them to do based upon scripture pulled out of THEIR ahhh...uhhh Big Book of Myths and Fables.

Is Barry's next Mrs. Green going to get alot of spankings?

Sounds like S&M to me.

Now THAT'S weird, and I'M a Southern Baptist deacon!! I think this takes some verses out of context, and does NOT represent the mainstream Christian viewpoint of marriage, using the "Bible taken as a WHOLE" method of interpretation. Talk about "open to abuse"--egads!! On a lighter note, maybe you should try this attitude on your present relationships--at least it would ensure you that you would never have to worry about a divorce again (because you would never get married)!

Oh GOD, I think I'm gonna be sick.

On a much lighter note, the entire city of Chicago burned overnight and millions are left homeless.

mzchief, I'll just pray for you...

your constant rambling about the Bible being a book of myths and fables is a slap in the face of every God-abiding person (I didn't say Christian) who desires to be more like Jesus.

It's funny how this blog always seems to take the very outer fringe examples of what is called Christianity and puts it on display for people to take pot shots at. Such a broad paint brush you all stroke it with! How about looking for a church that does good things and helps people in need? There ARE churches out there who love the Lord, love other people and aren't goofballs.
Mxchief, you aren't funny... you aren't cute... you're just sad...

I heard essentially the same vows made at a Baptist Church wedding in Katy a few years in which one of my female cousins got married. If I tried to pull that #%$& on my wife, I'd get a frying pan up against the side of the head.

NEWSFLASH!
TYPICALLY, a "God-abiding person who desires to be more like Jesus." is a CHRISTIAN. The ENTIRE Christian religion is built upon the PREMISE of abiding by the alleged teachings of Jesus.
It is MORE than just a wee bit ANNOYING that WACKY Christians seem to BELIEVE they are the ONLY ones interested in God and who KNOW God.

Incidentally, I do indeed APPRECIATE your prayers. TWICE DAILY, I pray to God for YOU and your ilk to come to TRULY know God and give up on YOUR silly Book of Myths and Fables.

It does indeed sound as though you are married to a FINE and SENSIBLE woman. More than LIKELY she would wait until you were sleeping to apply the frying pan.

Yeah, just another opportunity for Mzchief to go off on another rant about the Bible. It's amazing how her and so many others have such a "tiny" idea of God. All those people that criticize their Creator because He created a world with free will (and can't understand the idea of why bad things can happen to good people), would be the FIRST to object if God said, "Okay, I'll just make you puppets with strings". Mzchief, I dare you to read C. S. Lewis' MERE CHRISTIANITY. Feel free to read it with a logical and open mind, no "blind" faith is needed. By the way, C. S. Lewis was an ADAMANT atheist, who was able to examine the Bible and himself with "brutal honesty", and was "converted" almost against his will!

I wonder if Mr. Lewis spanked Mrs. Lewis??? I mean, in a Christian way, of course.

Mzchief I get so angry for YOU at the idiots you have to deal with. Where is that frying pan when you need one.

I am amazed at such weak minded individuals who will fall for anything.

Having read Mere Christianity decades ago I find it EXTREMELY odd that YOU would reference that particular book in an attempt to convert someone, especially since C.S. Lewis stated page six in the preface of Mere Christianity that he would not discuss the differences in doctrine for TWO reasons the FIRST because he was NOT qualified to do such and that, "You will not learn from me whether you ought to become an Anglican, a Methodist, a Presbyterian, or a Roman Catholic."..."And secondly, I think we must admit that the discussion of these disputed points has no tendency at all to bring an outsider into the Christian fold. So long as we write and talk about them we are much more likely to deter him from entering any Christian communion than to draw him into our own. Our divisions should never be discussed except in the presence of those who have already come to believe that there is one God and that Jesus Christ is His only Son."

Incidentally, I NOT an atheist. I have for the ENTIRETY of MY life believed in God. MY faith in God is so GREAT that I do NOT require a man made Big Book of Myths and Fables to KNOW the greatness of or to BELIEVE in God.

If ANYONE is selling God short it is the VAST number of people who BELIEVE God is soooo small that any ONE religion could and would KNOW all there is to KNOW about God. As for me KNOWING bad things happen to good people, trust me, I KNOW and no more hold God responsible for those things than I give God credit for the GOOD things that happen to BAD people. God did indeed grant humans free will which is WHY humans are the masters of their own destinies.

I am unable to provide you a link to the quote because I copied it from the volume of Mere Christianity in my PERSONAL library.

I NEVER become angry when discussing God. I am ONLY saddened by the fact that soooo MANY people have bought into the CURRENT myths and fables that keep them from truly KNOWING and TRUSTING in the love of God.

Did the screeching crack monkeys at the courthouse think of this? I'm pretty sure an infinite number of crack monkeys with and infinite number of typewriters typed those cool new rules on marriage.

None of us have the "Scriptural" answer to marriage.

A union of two people means respect for each other as individuals. It does not mean "ownership". Some folks get screwed up on that one because of how they were reared in the church.

If respect is not in a marriage or a relationship, it is dead.

Period.

A note about Mzchief's religious beliefs: They seem to be founded squarely on teachings from the Bible. Her constant mention of her personal relationship with God, prayers for others, etc. put her pretty much in the mainstream of Judeo-Christian beliefs.

Despite MC's constant denigration of organized religion, she doesn't mention worshipping trees, the sun, multiple deities, the Grand Toad or whatever. It's always "God."

....Which pretty much makes all her anti-religion postings shortsighted, lightweight and hypocritical; or an online put-on simply to attract attention.

In either case, take MC's postings with a big grain of salt.

Anonymous said...

I take mzchiefs comments as a dose of salts.... I pray they go quickly.

I find the irony delightful... she places the first comment about the topic (crazy fundamentalists who claim to know God's specific for man re:marriage)... so that she can tell us how wrong the entire Christian population is about the Bible... because she must know God's specific revelation for man re:Bible.

Leave it to an IGNORANT, ARROGANT Christian BAFFOON to PROCLAIM that someone ELSE'S belief in God is based upon Judeo-Christian tenets. Pull your head out of your POMPOUS arse and STUDY the tenets of religions other than Christianity and you will discover that it is not ONLY Christians who believe in a deity and offer prayers for troubled souls. Just because I have not mentioned worshipping trees and sacrificing young children while painted purple does not mean I do not engage in such behaviour.

Just because YOU are shortsighted and incapable of comprehending the BELIEFS of another person does NOT mean that person's BELIEFS are the same as YOURS just because YOU say so and that is ALL you are capable of comprehending. Your "reality" is NOT everyone else’s.

Wordkyle, you are without a doubt one of the most ARROGANTLY IGNORANT people I have EVER encountered.

In spite of having been told, YOU seemingly are incapable of grasping the fact that my alias is NOT MzChief but mzchief an adulteration of "mischief" it is REASONABLE to assert you are too DIM to comprehend topics that require HIGHER intellect. People like YOU are the reason there SHOULD be a MINIMUM IQ requirement for Internet access.

As for WARNINGS, I do NOT believe it is NECESSARY to warn others about you because THEY are intelligent enough to recognize YOU for the IDIOT that you are.

Yep! My Bad! I called you a name FIRST because you are SUCH an annoying CRETIN.

On this earlier post from mzchief:

"Incidentally, I NOT an atheist. I have for the ENTIRETY of MY life believed in God. MY faith in God is so GREAT that I do NOT require a man made Big Book of Myths and Fables to KNOW the greatness of or to BELIEVE in God."

Let me ask you a question, mzchief. If you don't believe in the Bible, how did you get your faith in God? Were you born with it? Did you learn it from someone? Also, do you think it is important for you to share your insights with others, so that they, too, may be enlightened?
Also, how about the way man came to be. Was it evolution? Creation?
I'm really not trying to me a smarty, I just want to know where you got your insight from? Have you ever seen God? If not, then you must have faith that God even exists. Tell us about your beliefs, please!

Mzchief, it never fails to amaze me how judgemental you are. You never seem to have anything nice to say about anyone or anything. I do not understand how you can be so hateful to anyone who has different beliefs than you do. I believe in a higher power, I do not study the bible but yet I am comfortable in my belief that if you are kind and caring and help people who are less fortunate than yourself you are living a meaningful life. You seem to be a mean spirited person and I am only saying this because I have reread some of your posts on earlier topics. I try very hard to treat people the way I would like to be treated. This is not a personal attack on you, these are just some of my observations and I am really trying to understand why you react and respond the way that you do. Since you are obviously a dedicated participant on this blog and you seem to respond to every topic. I believe that if you put your opinions and your beliefs on a public forum then you should not be surprised when your are scrutinized.
