A guy on the one of the normally spare
Dallas Morning News blogs had about
four rants from this weekend. Here was #2:
2) The guy in the church parking lot in Mesquite, appearing out of nowhere and hitting me up for "gas" money just as I was leaving my
granddaughter's dance recital. In front of my granddaughter! It's a CHURCH!
Yeah, what's the world coming to? The thought of giving the poor some money in front of a church!

The guy is a goober. I like the complaint about 75 cent air. Yes, it's air. But it's also a compressor, an air tank, hoses, underground electricity lines, not to mention the fact it had to be bought, built and requires maintenance to be conveniently available for people who, incidentally, have the option of saving the 75 cents by figuring out some other "free" way of forcing air into a tire.
If there weren't churches, then liberal weenies would want more government tax funded hand outs for the poor.
Hahahahahaha.
So? The guy wasn't attending church but a dance recital. I don't blame him for being mad. Why didn't the goon wait until church services when lots of folks could have been hit up.
By the way, I had hubcaps stolen from my new car years ago in the church parking lot of First UMC Fort Worth. Lots of street folks down near that old church.
And no, I didn't sue the church. Didn't have enough sense to think about that. I was just glad not to have been mugged.
Churches are a favorite place for "Travelers" or gypsies to con people out of money.
Most people hitting you up for gas money in a parking lot are just a variation on the street corner people holding up the sign (insert hard luck story here) asking for help. That's their idea of a job. Trying to con money out of other people who earned it honestly (well, except for lawyers - HAW HAW!)
I hate a begger. Get a freakin job, you slimeball. Gas money, right....
