Give Messenger credit. They had a report of three dead shortly after 5:00 this morning. (Question: If the Mustang was passing another vehicle, did the vehicle it passed stop? Not that he had a legal responsibility to, but you would think the driver would. An unidentified commentor posted that the Mustang was racing another vehicle -- something that is absolutely unconfirmed.)

Latest shortly before noon: WISE COUNTY, Texas — Four people were killed early Saturday morning in a head-on collision on a rural highway in Wise County.exas Department of Public Safety Trooper Lonny Haschell said the accident happened at 3:15 a.m. on FM 730 about six miles northeast of Decatur when the driver of a northbound Ford F-350 pickup truck saw a southbound Ford Mustang going the wrong way on the two-lane road.
Both drivers apparently tried to take evasive action, but they collided.
Four passengers in the Mustang were declared dead at the scene. The driver of the car was airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth for treatment of serious injuries. Haschell said some of the victims were teenagers.
The driver of the pickup truck, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Wise Regional Health System.
No names were released and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.

- Vincent G. Williams, 19, of Wakefield, Massachusetts
The driver of that car, 17-year-old Danny R. Nalley of Fort Worth, was airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth for treatment of serious injuries.

Yes there was 4 killed in the horrible wreck. I understand they appear to be young adults but are too messed up to really be able to tell at this point. You notice I say wreck and not accident...... time will tell if it was an accident or a wreck.

truly a sad time brought on by stupidity and careless actions of one driver who is now responsible for the deaths of four and injuring of another. when will people learn that safety is no accident and every action has a consequence so choose wisely when you go out
WHY were these kids out so late? What happened to making children be HOME before midnight?
There is something to the saying: NOTHING good happens after midnight.
Maybe these were college age kids who were 'responsible' for their own well-being. Sad.

What amazes me is that 3 cars were out there at 3 am. And all of them were seemingly not from Wise County. Not unsual for a wreck to happen at 3 am but it is mostly one car accidents.

I was told there were multiple vehicles following two vehicles who were racing. All had been drinking. all vehicles stopped but hauled ass for fear of getting into trouble. it took 3 hours to extract passengers from mustang. Seems to be some late night partying at grasslands. EMS worker said it was worst wreck he had ever seen.Many large bottles of liquor ( all empty) found in mustang.
My husband was out at 3 this morning, driving home because he works on an oil rig.. some people do have legit reasons for being out at that time.
This is tragic for all involoved. No matter what the kids were doing out at that time, their family and friends are still heartbroken.

They were drinking. The other two are John (the drivers cousin from Houston) and Vincent Lagrassa, another teenager. Source- I'm friends with them all and saw them get into the car that night. Doctor said Danny will be fine. He had surgery today.
And another thing... He wasn't racing! He was passing another group of teens they were following back to saginaw... Where we are all from! The car in front of him wasn't even a Mustang. The driver of the other car is named Chris.

not racing. all young yes, he tried to pass a car (which ones brother was in) so think his own brother has to live with seeing his brother trying to save him, there families are hurting, danny is alive at jps.
Where is the law when you need them. They need to watch the grasslands for these beer busts!! No they would rather watch for stop sign blvd stoppers, so they can make money off the taxpayers.
You know what, never mind, if a kid wants to get drunk, drive and kill themselves I don't give a rats patootie. Just wish bystanders didn't get in the way.
The other vehicle was a Honda Accord. All the kids had been drinking and made the choice to get into the car with an individual who had been also drinking. The Mustang was passing the Accord. The Accord stopped to let kids out of the vehicle and then left the scene of the accident. Dont have any remorse for any of the kids, only the driver of the truck who was trying to make a living.

I never got in a car if I had a drink, or the driver had a drink. However, kids do make mistakes.
They would have grown up and out of poor decison-making. Do you know that car rental companies will not rent to anybody under the age of 25? Before that age, their brains are not fully matured enough.

You talk to them and it goes in one ear and out the other. When they are in trouble here the little shits come for help. I wasted thousands of dollars on my own kids because they made bad decisions. Eventually turned out fine adults; but good God it was a pain in the butt for us.
I had a mustang. You can lose control very easily in them; and, are a death trap in a wreck. Especially if you run head into a freaking F-350. Buy your teens a big ass truck; but, be prepared to foot the bill for who they kill.

Everyone that let the kids leave should be held responsible for that accident. They could have prevented them from leaving. It again was their choice so no i dont feel bad for them and never will. They should get the Mustang and put it on 380 with a big sign on it sayin Alcohol kills, then maybe some of these kids would think twice about driving drunk.

I grew up on military bases. There was always a wrecked car parked at the front gate with a sign that said, "Drive Carefully. Wear your Seatbelt. Alcohol Kills." It was ALWAYS the young marines who had the wrecks. About once every month, a newer wrecked car would replace the older one. It certainly didn't deter any of them from crashing.
I am not defending the drunk driver. The driver of the Mustang will most likely get a long sentence in jail. He will also have to live with the guilt of killing his friends. If he's not an adult, his parents are probably going to be sued too. I do know that teens are just plain stupid.
Unless you are the driver of the truck, you have no idea what he is actually thinking.
I have a cousin who is paralyzed from the waist down due to a drunk teen hitting her car. It was over 20 years ago. It was horrible. The teen walked away without a scratch. He did serve time in jail, but not much time. She forgave him because a life filled with anger wasn't going to fix her legs.
Make your child be home before midnight! Period! That reduces the risk of accidents greatly! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PARENTS? Are they afraid of angering their child by giving them a curfew? Be a parent first and after your child has grown into a responsible adult that has some sense, then become their friend! Children need parenting!! Get it?
The parents of all those kids who were out partying until 3:00am should be held negligent! It amazes me how this world is run by teenagers and adults are AFRAID to cross them! Discipline them, make them mind and be good productive kids, punish them bigtime when they cross the line and they will then live long enough to grow up and will thank you for keeping them alive during their really stupid teenage years!
My heart goes out to all and even though my post seems heartless, it isn't. Those of you who say it is, better take a look at how you parent your own children! It could be their funeral next!

Sadly, I read on a message board that the Mustang driver's father was killed some time back and his mother died of cancer. I don't know who his legal gardian was;, but at 17 he is legally an adult. There will be no one to sue but his insurance company.
I know it will be God's will if her lives or not; but, it would be merciful if he could join his parents. If he lives, perhaps there is a purpose he has not fulfilled as yet. I wish him Godspeed in his journey to eternity. It could be quick or a very long road to endure.
If he indeed has alcohol in his system at the time of the accident, he should be prosecuted for intoxication manslaughter. Just remember he could have hit a smaller vehicle besides a F-350. IMHO that is why that driver walked away.
May the next person who uses "IMHO" die s slow painful aids relayed death.
The most amazing thing in this story is that there were two people named Vincent riding across wise county Texas in the same car.
Dont judge Danny, he is like family to us. His life is hard and he is a fighter and he will make it through this God willing. Dont blame him and you cant judge. Only God can!

I blame all the kids and whoever was over 21 that supplied the booze. Thank goodness the pickup driver is okay, I am sure quite traumatized, but he survived.

He was the driver. That means he took the responsibility of transporting other souls in his car. He made the decision to drink and drive. He decided to pass in a no pass zone and put everyone's life at risk, and he lost.
HE IS DEFINITELY TO BLAME! If he is a good kid, then he made some horrific mistakes that cost lives, but he made those decisions so he is to blame.
Just because you like or even love someone doesn't mean you can tell others not to judge their destructive behavior. Yes, God will judge. That is called 'final judgement.'
Human beings will be judge and jury on this earth. That's been going on forever! Why do you think we have jails?
This driver, if it is proven that he was drunk, killed those 4 other souls in his car. How can you say differently?
He will pay, here, after being judged in a court of law, and in the hereafter, by God.
Instead of defending him, why don't you use this to teach other kids that they are not invincible, that their stupid decisions can cost the lives of others and maybe even their own life and that most importantly, it can happen to anyone, even the "good" kids who decide to make alcohol or drugs a factor in their life.

Why Can't these boozing teens find somewhere to party in their own county? It's sad that they lost their lives but it was their time to go. Bottom line is the parents are to blame for not instilling common sense into their children. No matter what time it is or where you are DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT get behind the wheel or in the car with someone who has been drinking. Call me and I will come and pick you up as well as your friends and deliver you safely home or wherever you need to go. No questions asked. I will do this because I am your parent and I love you. It breaks my heart to hear of teens dying but If a few have to die so their friends will know not to drink and drive or drink and ride with someone who has then it is worth it. My heart goes out to their loved ones.
Teenager brains are totally undeveloped for common sence. You can talk to them until you are blue in the face; and, when they are with their friends peer pressure takes over. They forget everything you say. There are exceptions though. Some kids are born old souls, I believe.

okay well frist off id like to say how sad that any of these people can talk about whom they do not know it really pisses me off i knew all the boys in the car llike very well two of witch i spent pretty much every day with its not easy thing to go throw and to watch my little brother relive the nightmare of the night time and time again and cant get the images out his head you people dont know what happened and quite frankly its none of your damn business it just seems like anytime somthing bad happens people make their business if you want to do somthing then how about giving a donation to the familys of the four boys or to dannys family ive lost a lot of people in the short life i have had but nothing hurt as much as loseing those boys so unless you have somthing to give to the familys you should stop posting things
I am a friend of Kevin and have been for a very long time. Just a few clarifications so comments and unnecessary rumors will stop. The 5 teens in the ill-fated car were coming from a party. There was NO drugs and NO alcohol involved. The driver was trying to pass a car with a group of friends in front of them, but they were not racing. All in all it was a stupid, last minute idea that cost too many people too much pain but that's it, a mistake. Everyone makes stupid mistakes in their lives. Unfortunately this mistake COST lives. Both drivers are alive and recovering.
Some of the comments on this page have made me ill! How can anyone be so cold? For the person that said that you don't have any remorse for any of them... What a cold, cruel individual you are! These young men were doing what young men do. They made poor decisions and paid the ultimate price with their lives. They were sons, brothers and friends to many. They were loved greatly! They all have families and friends that I had to watch suffer. Too many vigils, viewings and funerals all within a week. It was nonstop! I held them close and wiped the tears from so many faces. I felt the pain that they felt. I cried along with all of them. I pray to God that you never have to endure such a horrible pain but according to what you have typed above, I honestly think you would blame them and have no concience about it. How cold can people be? I thank God that I have a heart! I can't even bring myself to feel sorry for you. Evil is evil! When you have lost your sense of compassion, you have lost your soul! Enough said!
