I Don't Think That Would Work Around Here

I've always thought it was nuts for the government to say, "Turn in your guns and we'll give you money." That's what going to happen in Dallas.

The SMART gunrunner shows up outside of Reunion with a basket of $75.00 grocery cards.

should kick off a string of gun thefts. how much crack can you get with a 50$ grocery card.

Give a man a shopping card, he'll eat for a day
Teach a man to jack people up with a gun, he'll eat for a lifetime
(until he gets caught, then he eats for free courtesy of the Man)

i'm curious as to how they are going to determine whether or not a gun is "operational"...

i have several guns i never "use". free groceries for a month or two would be nice...

I don't know about y'all, but my guns cost way more than $50...more like $500! Why on Earth would people give up a perfectly good firearm for groceries when they can go out and shoot dinner?

Better buy a loaf of french bread with that card...at least you'll have something to swing at an intruder breaking in to steal your groceries!

I think i'll keep my guns...to keep my family safe and feed them if need be.

"They" can have my guns when they pry them out of my cold dead fingers!

Social liberal weenie policies are the answer to everything.

saturday night specials, which is basically the type of gun they are targeting, would be appropriate for a $50 trade
responsible gun owners (myself, and probably you, too) who realize the value of a quality weapon won't bother with the trade-in. They'll be the ones outside trying to snag that rare 1911 some old lady dredges out of the deceased husband's footlocker
Happy "hunting" to them

50 bucks for an unloaded gun? I bet I could get more if the damn thing was loaded.

By the way, we did the same thing in Iraq a few years ago, but they got 500 bucks a pop for theirs, and they didn't turn in very many either.

We just seem to keep getting dumber all the time.

And a sidenote: it would do society a lot more good to buy everyone's TV from them. That's what has really destroyed our country.

This failed bit is the most idiotic attempt at gun "control". Been done plenty of times in Detroit and LA. I would love to see the data on what impact it might have had on gun crime. Anyone?

If you really want to put a dent in crime with guns... jack up the penalty on a convictions involving firearms... use one to rob? 50 years. Use one in an attempted murder? Life. Use one to kill? We'll kill you back.

Increased penalties = better deterrant

Attempt to limit number/types of firearms = epic fail

They need to I D the person to see if they are felons, to see if the guns are stolen. Ihave just noticed this week that we are responsiblefor the violence in Mexico. Not the scum that has ran the political officies;police, mayor, judge,or any job that allows anyone in charge to screw anybody they come into contact with. They have a word for it(mordiba) the bite. If you want to do some serious jail time for a fire arm related offence let a mexican auto inspector find a .22 bullet under your floor mat. They way to cure the gun problem in Mexico is let every have guns.Itis harder to rob them. Watch the news after the idiot's go their on spring break.NO sypathy.DAGO
