We Need More Lawyers

What story out of the Houston Chronicle could possibly prompt that many comments? Hints: Alcohol. DWI. Death. A lawsuit. A judge's daughter. And you'd still never guess. Answer. (Thanks, Keith from bagofnothing.com.)

Ridiculous! A judge’s daughter is drunk, rear-ends another vehicle and kills her boyfriend/passenger. She's convicted (but only gets 4 months in jail and probation). Now the nitwit is suing the driver of the truck she hit? Are we supposed to believe he was at fault when she was 3x the legal limit? Frivolous. Get her back in jail for some real time.

I was driving down 287 the other day and I found a dead lawyer and a dead snake on the highway. There were skid marks in front of the snake.

Wait wait wait....we don't know the story.

That jerk in the truck may have done something to cause her wreck....thus making it his fault the pasenger died.

Plus.......we all agree that it's ok to drink a little and drive.

I mean we spend so much money on court costs dealing with small time DWI's and possession charges.

Today, saw the old unemployed man in Lewisville again. He was on Macarthur at 1600 hours.

Just because someone is breaking the law (driving drunk) doesn't mean that everyone else can be negligent and unaccountable. Let the lawsuit play out!

Next time I see the neighbor kid speeding in front of my house I'm going to push my mountain bike in the road so I can get a new one!

Omg...I have always been told that if you rear end someone its your fault!
She was drunk. If she were not drunk then she could have reacted faster to the other driver (or any driver) no matter if he swerved into her lane at the last moment.

It makes me sick to think that she got off so easy.

Drunk drivers are being sued all the time. It is about time the drunk drivers fight back and show people they can't be pushed around.

TI would bet that this is not so much a lawsuit against the uninsured truck driver. It is more likely a shakedown of the insurance carrier for the drunk girl and her passenger to pursue claims under their Uninsured Motorists coverage.
