Note To Local News Affiliates

There is no need to show me footage of people (1) buying water, (2) getting gas, (3) buying plywood, (4) nailing up plywood, etc. And you also don't have to show me the old timer who says "I ain't ever left and I don't plan to leave now."

Then what will they show? The reporter standing on the pier watching the storm come in while saying, "Bob, it's really windy out here - everyone needs to evacuate immediately, but we'll stay here to cover the storm."

And all this for what looks like now will never amount to much more than a minimal Tropical Storm!

I wish they would show Bush at the controls steering it toward a poor black neighborhood.

I keep waiting for Jim Cantore to throw down his microphone, tear off his shirt, and just start flexing at the storm.

is it just me or do they name everything now, we have bigger thunderstorms than this in west TX

Are they calling the storm in West Texas Doyle?

Why is the entire State of Florida not being evacuated immediately under the "you never know" clause of our new response plan to every potential disaster? We should just keep relocating people year after year every time there is a storm out there, to make sure we collect all the people that are too dumb to move themselves.

The fault of reality TV. My gosh this is the funniest thread I have read on here and of course you are all right.

Let's not forget buying plywood at your local Home Depot and of course topping off that extra pint of gas at your local 7-11.

Is keeping your eyes on the ball too mundane a phrase?
