My adult children and their families are at the lake and are always in that area. She called me today just to let me know it wasn't them! Thank God for good kids.
Who gives a flip. Idiots, racing in jetboats to go pick up a playing card. Could have killed others too, but didn't really care. Geniuses with jet boats that somehow did not understand that water is not smooth, and jetboats are not indy cars. Better dead on the Lake than killing some innocent family on the highway with their drunken idiotic behavior.
Wait I just read the story, five people were killed, dead, not breathing. What does it matter if they took a boat safety class or if they were wearing life preservers, or for that matter if drugs or alcohol were involved?
Of course, we don't know the circumstances yet about this boat collision, but here's a something to think about for Labor Day. Have you noticed that ALMOST EVERY adult drowning involves--alcohol. Listen to every news story when it is about an adult lake drowning (as opposed to one during a flood), and you will hear "alcohol was involved" almost every time!! Alcohol and swimming/boating does not mix. BWI and DWI are equally dangerous. (BWI=Boating While Intoxicated) Let's stay safe during this Labor Day holiday.
Okay Anon 12:42 I get that I may have made a stupid statement. It is true, at this point, that it does not matter if alcohol was involved. What's done is done. Maybe, it was just a freak accident where boaters weren't paying attention because they were all too consumed in getting the next playing card.
Freak accident: perfectly healthy person has an aneurism swerves into oncoming traffic hitting and killing busload of children.
Careless accident: driver swatting at bee inside car swerves into on coming traffic hitting and killing busload of children.
Criminal act: drunk driver swerves into oncoming traffic hitting and killing busload of children.
There is a tremendous difference between an accident and a criminal act involving drugs and alcohol resulting in death and/or injury.
There is also a vast difference in how friends and family deal with having their loved ones die due to a freak accident, careless accident and having them die in a senseless crime.
if I hear another dumbass anonymous person post it may make me shoot myself in the face.. and save your witty comment "oh thank god please shoot yourself mousey" because it's a shitty come back... come on kids, lets get creative.

That is awful. I hope alcohol wasn't involved.

I hope they were wearing their life preservers.

I hope drugs were not involved.
I hope they took the boater safety program.
I hope no gasoline was spilled into the lake killing any fish.
I hope Greta realizes what a stupid statement that was.
I hope no one was killed!
