I noticed in the Morning News today that Denton High School had three "co-valedictorians" and and four "co-salutatorians". Denton Ryan High School had four "co-valedictorians".
Can we please carry out the grades to the 1000th of a point so we can have a winner?

Crazy. There can only be one.
I can't believe you took time out of your 11:00 Dinner Hour to post....wonders never cease...
kind of like the top 4 teams in districts ALL make the playoffs now days. Winning district means nothing anymore.
Because there is sometimes great differences in the courses taken, relying on grade point averages can lead to injustices is identifying the "top" graduate. Sometimes there will even be transferees who have better averages from differnt schools. These "labels" matter to some parents and colleges, but eventually the student will have to produce in the real world. When the cream finally comes to the top, no one will care who was validictorian, salutatorian or "most likely etc."
3:53...shut up.
Whine whine whine!!
Kinda like the person who commented on the hockey Stanley Cup playoffs--the teams play all season to see what four teams DON'T go to the playoffs!
