Weird
From the Update: "FORMER SHERIFF DIES — Former Wise County Sheriff Leroy Burch died in Fort Worth last night, according to Mike Bement, the county’s former fire marshal. No other details were available."
It is so odd I posted this a few days ago. I hadn't thought about the former sheriff in years.

It is odd, in that somebody posted how good he looked at the Wise County Jail open house.
Lots of opinions about Leroy, but at this time, we should be remembering his family.
Certainly a sad time for them.
We just saw him Tuesday morning in the cafe having breakfast and he looked fine. We talked to him a bit and he seemed to be doing well.
My first thought when I read the update was about Barry's post on this blog. It is a bit weird.
How old was Leroy? Not yet 50, was he? Anyone have any details?
Tell me about the 'pole with the scraped off sticker' that brings back memories....I'm not from Decatur and dont understand what that means?

It was an old Burch sticker from his campaign of 88. He was a still a good concrete man and will be missed by many.
