I use to hate Rick Perry but he is talking common sense about immigration and how Texas is being punished by dumping illegals caught coming across the border in California and Arizona here in Texas. Of course that may be a way of increasing the Latino voters when they are given amensty.
Perry is in tune with Texans being fed up with all the corruption and Chicago style politics. He will win the Primary and that is why Kay is not leaving her senate seat to run for govenor. Just like John McCain did not resign his senate seat to run for president.
The speech Perry made in Midland about Cap and Trade shutting down Midland applies to Wise County. If radical envirnomental activists have their way, we will all be in the poor house and not able to pay for electricity provided by wind and clean energy in order to save the planet.
It is time everyone who can figure this out needs to speak out to stop this silliness now.

About $11 BILLION surplus. But, the MSM says it's more like $2 billion because $5.7 billion is rainy day fund and requires supermajority of legislators to release and $3 million is for property TAX CUTS promised, leaving ONLY $2 BILLION actual ready to use surplus.

As far as education goes, Perry continues to resist increased spending despite increasing fed requirements for NCLB standards and increasing student population (albeit illegal immigrants). So, he can talk about borders, but he's not doing shit about them. Duncan is worse by far as he continually tries to reduce Texas teacher retirement benefits in midstream, and the only reason they haven't been cut is because of constitutional mandates.
