Google Ramps It Up

Just a quick educational video here, folks. Just when you thought The Google couldn't get any better, it has. This video shows how the company has just expanded its results page to give you a variety of options to further refine the search. Sound boring? It really isn't. And check out when he talks about the Wonder Wheel option. (And an unrelated trick: If you add the word "wiki" to your search, the Wikipedia entry will be the first one returned by Google.)

Duh, this may sound like a dumb question, but if you want the Wikipedia results for your search, why not just go to their site to begin with and type your info there?

Do any of ya'll get tired of your friends circulating bogus emails? I continually have to go to Snopes or Truth or Fiction and debunking the crap that is mindlessly forwarded.

If you add the name of any site like: youtube, TMZ, imdb, cbs, aol, hulu, metacafe, mininova, etc..., to your search the pertinent pages of whichever site you add to your search will appear at the top of the search results.

I had to delete cookies and cache before I could see the search options.

You can type "more" into the Google search bar, click 2nd search result (that's new) and it'll give you a ton of Google tools, like Google Docs. I haven't used it much, but I learned about it last summer. It's probably been brought up on here before, but to any who've forgotten...thereya go.
