They are throwing 17 year olds in the hoosegow for contempt of court? Sheesh. And since this is the City of Denton jail, I'm pretty sure the "court" was the Denton Municipal Court.
Here's another 17 year old booked in for the same thing about 30 minutes later. He doesn't look too happy.

I'm just a dumb country boy....but would that possibly mean that they were being "typical todays teenager" (which I've coined TTT)and were being loud and disruptive during court?
Don't know what to think about this but do know, Denton cops are ruthless. GEEZ! 17 years old? Let's get them some help, not throw them in jail.

7:33am. Maybe she doesn't have the money. Maybe she's on her own, working some crappy job just trying to pay her bills. So don't lay down a blanket statement like you did without knowing the circumstances.
