. . . but kind of interesting link about former Bridgeport resident Allen Vaught and his fight to keep his state representative seat.

Notice that the Wise County Messenger newspaper did not post ONE "Letter to the Editor" for the last two editions. This Republican controlled newspaper used the Carl Rove/Palin Republican playbook rule. Don't say ANYTHING nor let the TRUTH about the local Republican party get out.
I bet they post the letters after the election when it is too late to educate the voters.
Don't worry, 12:39PM, there is no way the Red Wiseguys can be educated. You can pity them for their stupidity if you so choose. Me? I won't waste my time on them.
The local newspapers usually cut off all letters to the editor before the election since the other side would not have time to respond. That is fair and balanced.
The voters should be educated by now since it seems this election has been going on forever!
It was published on the Messenger editorial page as well as their web site that the last day for letters to the editor concerning the election would be Oct. 23. Many papers have a similar cut off to thwart those who would make last-minute attacks without leaving time for rebuttal.
I agree with the editorial policy of NOT printing political letters just prior to elections. I wish the TV networks would also "edit" the flaming lies pumped out (by both sides) just prior as well!
Link to Allen Vaught's TV ad. He is a Purple Heart Recepient and a fine statesman. He'll be appearing in a bit part in a Matt Damon movie about the Iraq War. Bridgeport should be proud of him. He still has family there.

The editor has full control to publish part of or ... all of any letter and has used this in the past.
Also they could have put us subscribers on notice that no more letters until after the election ... I don't remember anything ???
I think a letter thanking our elections department for their efforts during early election was fair?
