For the most recent statistics of 2004 (don't know why that's the most recent), comes this gem for Texas:
In 2004, Hispanic girls ages 15 to 19 accounted for 61 percent of teen births even though only 39 percent of Texas adolescents were Hispanic, according to the federal National Center for Health Statistics.And I have no idea if this accounts for home births by illegal aliens. This State - it is a changin'.

The abstinence thing just isn't working. High schools should begin distributing root boots (aka "lids", "raincoats") immediately.
9:27 - yeah, so what - the majority of Texans will someday be Hispanic. If you don't like it then move the f_ck out. Feel free to take all the white trash with you - at least they speak English, right??
And taxpayers are paying the hospital bills for the teen age mothers. Hispanic males get the young girls pregnant and do not step up to pay for the medical bills. They come from a culture where the male does not live with their wife and children or take care of them. Hopefully Texas Hispanic teen girls will get smart and decide to have a future!
Start teaching the kids how to prevent conception. Abstinence works - but when kids don't use it, (gee, you don't think!) they need real physical protection. Many in the religious right hate protection and abortion - then they complain about all the minority babies being born. Inconceivably inconsistent.

Hey, next year for halloween maybe I should just give out condoms instead of candy. God why didnt I think of this sooner-really I didnt expect to have more high school age kids tricker treating at my house than grade school kids.

I would guess the rate of teen pregnancy per state has more to do with socio/economic status than skin color, but some people would never admit it because of their preconceived notions and prejudices.
I do not have a problem with Mexicans here in our state.....I just wish they would become Americans! If they chose to stay Mexican I wish they would stay in Mexico.....just my opinion! Mexican-Americans should learn English.

THE POOR INNOCENT BABIES~~IT ISN'T THEIR FAULT BUT IT IS OUR FAULT HERE IN THE UNITED STATES/ TEXAS/ WISE COUNTY/ EDUCATE , PROVIDE THESE YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SOMETHING MORE~~ LIKE AN INSENTIVE TO BE MORE THAN JUST TEENAGERS. SET UP SOME SORT OF RESOURSE COMMITTEE WHO REALLY WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD IN WHICH WE ALL LIVE, SO....... SOMETHNG LIKE A POINT BASED PLAN THAT SAY A TEEN GIRL EARNED 100 POINTS SHE MIGHT BE ABLE TO USE THESE POINTS TOWARDS CLOTHING OR WHATEVER, IF LOCALS WANNA BITCH AND MOAN~~WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE DONE EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. WE REALLY HAVE ALOT OF GREAT KIDS HERE IN WISE COUNTY SO IF ALL OF US PUT TOGETHER A PLAN OUR WISE LITTLE COUNTY AND THE YOUTH WHO PROUDLY CALL THIS THEIR HOME MIGHT BE ABLE TO BE THE EXAMPLE THE REST OF TEXAS HAS BEEN WAITING FOR, I AM DONE.
