Random Friday Morning Thoughts

• Johnny Depp can do a really good Trump impersonation. And that's why he's your RTG of the day.
• The Ticket's Corby Davidson got smacked in the forehead last night during a broadcast. Honestly, I'm shocked that doesn't happen more often. I've listened to those broadcasts. 
• I can't wait for football to no longer be relevant. Two players were sent to the hospital, one vis helicopter, after a head to head collision. 
• Baylor and Waco has tried to keep the campus' bad side quiet, but, "Outside the Lines has obtained documents that detail largely unknown allegations of sexual assault, domestic violence and other acts of violence involving several Baylor football players." Why is it that Outside the Lines is the one to go after this story? 
• I now am scouting locations for a new LL mansion on the cliffs of East Bay. 
• UNT applied for a liqour license. I have a feeling that is going to be a bad idea.
• Death in media: Morley Safer, CNN correspondent dies at 84. I still have the 60 minutes episode that aired on 5/15/16 about his life story on the dvr to watch.
• Carpal Tunnel is a real thing. I've had surgery to correct that very painful problem and will go for round two this summer. A nameless person commented and calling it fake. No way they actually believe that, right?
• The Senior in the House has a Senior Luncheon, two Senior Dinners and Senior Sunday at church this weekend. The 7th Grader in the House is leaving Monday for a five day school trip touring Texas. Another weekend without sleeping in. I'm not sure I'll get to even sneak a nap in. #GraduatingProblems Summer can't get here quick enough. 
• The Kids in the House and most of their friends call Barry, Bubear.

The Texas Supreme Court ruled that the current way to fund schools (taxes on property) is really unfair but not unconstitutional -- so it stays in place.
A "Davey" in Bridgeport called into The Ticket this week.
Texas Rangers have a new Bloody Mary at The Ballpark.

That is absolutely Idiocracy. The Sweet Spot Cotton Candy Hot Dog is also evidence of that. Sheesh.
Don Willett is on Trump's list of Supreme Court nominees. Don Willett was the one that tweet a Donald Trump Haiku.

• Texas Rangers had 14 players with suspensions. Odor was also fined $5000 so a fan started a GoFundMe page. 
• Predictions for the Byron Nelson Golf Tournament. Golf is one of those sports that I have a hard time getting in to.
• Wise County Weather Update from, well...The Update:
• WET START – Rain was falling on commuters headed in to work this morning. Rainfall totals as of 7:30 a.m. included 0.85 of an inch in Greenwood, 0.79 in Decatur, 0.5 in Alvord, 0.42 in Bridgeport and 0.27 in Rhome. Oncor Area Manager Sabrina Easley reported 1,200 customers without power as of 7:30 in Alvord and Runaway Bay. Both areas have been out since around 5:30 a.m. when the storms came through. The forecast calls for a 50 percent chance of rain today and a 40 percent chance tonight. Rain chances remain in the forecast through Friday.
• Prosper woman sentenced to two years in prison for having sex with her son's 15 year old friend. Kinda light punishment.
• I found what I need Barry to get me for Christmas. I may need to start a GoFundMe to help him out. 
• "Exactly 62 years ago, on May 17, 1954, the U.S. Supreme Court declared that segregated schools were unconstitutional." What year is this?

• Look into those cute puppy eyeballs and tell me you don't want to adopt it. I Miss Snuggles 
• Cigarette tax per pack may increase in Oklahoma from $1.50 to $2.00. Missiouri's tax rate is only $0.17. It's a little hard to compete with that.
• It's been one year since the Waco Shootout.There was a documentary by CNN aired last night.
• Ken Paxton is asking himself for an opinion.
• Former Jacksboro football coach, Chuck Curtis has died. He led them to a state title in the 1960's.
• Note to Barry: If a flower tag says to plant in full sun and you plant it in shade, it's not going to make it. Mystery solved. You're welcome.
• Also, Barry's favorite female raunchy comedian, Sara Silverman, will be performing at WinStar.
• I found an animal I won't be asking Barry for.
• Throw back post Tuesday. And update to that post. I can't say I turned out to be that kind of wife. Then again, I do have a bat.
• Also, speaking of the bat, I didn't say we don't own guns, I just mentioned that I don't like guns. I've seen the result too many times.

Random Monday Morning Thoughts

• We've got a 50 year old trying out for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. And not bad. She also wrote her own article. 
• Still Mrs. LL - but, yes, I'm backing off the blogging after Friday. Five more days of me and I'll let ya have Barry back. He's just about back to normal. Well, normal for him. I'm happy to report of good blood pressure and that left limp of his is gone.
• My old stomping grounds in Abilene, Tx now has howler monkeys in their zoo. What?! That just happens to be my favorite monkey! And I love me some monkeys. A rare posted pic on the blog of Mr. and Mrs. LL.circa 2009.
• 
• Cue the orchestra music. I have been awakened by howler monkeys in two different countries.
• I saw Wicked at Dallas Fair Park with my mother and both offspring in the house. The bahtrooms have extremely loud attendants to make the line move fast by directing women to open stalls. It was fantastic.
• A trooper in the Northeast was suspended after beating a  motorist after he has surrendered after a high speed chase. It was caught on tape. There was also a lot of afters in that sentence. 
• While driving with my mother, I asked her why the flags were all at half staff and she quickly responded, "because Trump got the Republican nomination." 
• The defensive line coach at UT is getting a huge raise from $250,000 to $515,000. Good grief. We're all in the wrong field.
• Benches get cleared at the Ranger's Game yesterday.

• While blogging in a hurry, I went for a quick google of a picture of the West Explosion and that's what I got. Now we're back to doggies. Someone please adopt Sparky.
• While jotting notes of possible blog posts, The 7th Grader in The House thought they were silly, so she points at an open window and says, "Hey, why don't you blog about that open window?"  
• I wonder if Rhome will accept the police chief's resignation? Update.
• RHOME COUNCIL TO CONSIDER CHIEF’S RESIGNATION – The council will meet at 7 tonight to swear-in two new members, Sam Eason and LeAnne Mackowski, and re-elected mayor Michelle Pittman. Police Chief Brandon Davis’ resignation will be submitted to the council as well. The meeting is at City Hall, 105 E. First St.
• Update to The Great Bathroom Debate of 2016. The White House says: 
• A school must allow transgender students to use the bathroom consistent with their gender identity. A school cannot require transgender students to use individual restrooms or locker rooms when other students are not required to do so. Schools can, however, offer individual restrooms to all students.
• An Arkanas judge is accussed of swapping sex for reduced sentences. He wrote checks to the defendants for posing inside his home and outside in his yard. Checks? He wrote checks? This has been going on for a long time, but now he has resigned. 
• It's a busy Friday for me, but I do have more posts coming. Stay tuned.
• Also, I think I might put in my one week notice for blogging. This and graduation activities may be too much to handle. We'll decide on Monday. (Looking around for Kleenex.)

Random Thursday Morning Thoughts

The fire that started the explosion in West, Texas has determined to be a criminal act. ATF recreated the crime scene to replicate exactly what happened. 

I saw a Burn Ban sign on 114 last night and thought, really? Turns out, there isn't one for this area yet.

I've been reduced to jotting down notes throughout the day to blog about. When we passed a burn ban in effect sign, the 7th Grader in The House, joked that she saw a window open. I'm not sure where she gets the smarty pants attitude from. She also referred to someone's dad as having being in "an army of somewhere". Me- "Like another country?" "No, here in America."

Did I hear CNN correctly that Missy Beavers mom is living with the husband and kids of Missy? If it were me, I would be highly suspicious of him. Mother n law has written two letters to the killer. They also spoke to People magazine. Any chance they received compensation for any of that?

First time for Dallas Stars hockey team to play game seven at the AA center and they lost.  Hockey is one of those I'd have to watch in person to be slightly interested in. I've only done that once.

Baylor fraternity president, Jacob Anderson, was indicted Wednesday on four counts of sexual assault. 

George Zimmerman is going to auction the gun he used. "I am honored and humbled to announce the sale of an American Firearm Icon," he wrote in the description of the gun used to kill the unarmed, black teenager. "The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012."  Honored and humbled? Eek.

• I can't believe I mentioned the name Noah and didn't post of picture to go along with it. I apologize.
• Have you watched the movie, "Inside Out"? You should, it's entertaining and a little insightful.
• I got a bug bite on my leg that I'm a little worried about. As a person that spends a lot of time outdoors, I know odd when I see it.
• Hurst didn't have a very good evening. First they had a strong storm and then there was a double shooting.
• I like the term "fake outrage" when referring to LT. Gov. Dan Patrick.
• Officer Pearce goes home after 2 months in the hospital. Two Months. 
• Barry update: He's doing really good. It's just about time to hand this thing back to him. 
• Texas Rangers had a rain delay between the second and third innings. I love a good rain delay that brings out the tarp. 
• Oh my! An inmate died in custody of the jail. From the Update:
• INMATE DIES AT COUNTY JAIL – A Chico man died at the Wise County Jail Saturday night. Sheriff Lane Akin said Jeremiah Martinez, 35, was arrested Saturday evening for public intoxication after a citizen called to report Martinez was seen acting strangely on County Road 1540 near Chico. A deputy responded and asked for Wise County EMS to evaluate Martinez. Akin said Martinez was belligerent and uncooperative, but he was finally cleared to be taken to jail. Once at the jail, Martinez continued to be uncooperative. He was placed in a holding cell and placed on a 10-minute watch rotation. About an hour later, Martinez was found unresponsive in his cell. Medics were called out again but were unable to revive Martinez. His body was sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner for an autopsy and toxicology reports. Akin said Martinez did admit to a deputy that he had ingested methamphetamine. Read more in the midweek Wise County Messenger.

Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts

• I needed a cute kitten for the day.
• Texas AG Ken Paxton is in trouble again for not reporting a $100,000 stock gift. He said that he tried to pay the CEO at a Dairy Queen but the CEO refused because, "God doesn't want me to take your money." 
• For the record, I didn't throw out an "ugh" for the kids taking the actual tests, it was more for the procedures involved with the staff that administers the STAAR tests. I've been confident with both kiddos testing.
• I had someone get oddly angry with me yesterday, complain about me - all while blatantly lying about what was going on. I didn't take any of it personally. Turned out, they had a very frustrating moment before they tried to pull a fast one on me and I wouldn't budge.
• Between Trump's many crazy comments plus the tons of sound bites from other Republicans over the last few months, the video splicing guy for Hillary's ad campaign must be exhausted.  
• The lady attacked by the dogs like they were eating steak passed away yesterday. Ugh. What a horrible way to go.
• Ozzy and Sharon Ozbourne are divorcing. I think that shouldn't be allowed. They've been married 33 years. Come on, they're Ozzy and Sharon!
• TCU made a big spelling error. Oops. 
• Someone stole the license plate off of The Family Gangster Mobile. I filed a police report online. I would feel better if I had a police officer take that report. The 7th grader in the House didn't understand why someone would want another's license plate. She also didn't understand what a couple could be doing parked in a dark parking lot at night. I was probably too honest with both scenarios.
• Two died in tornados in Oklahoma yesterday. 
• Barry's high school football coach passed away last week.FUNERAL for Orrie Harris, 82, of Bridgeport is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico with burial at Chico Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at Jones-Bridgeport.

• Did everyone behave on Mother's Day yesterday? Personally, I took my Mum to see Mother's Day. It was a cute movie.

• So, let me get this straight: Now Rick Perry is endorsing Doald Trump when he called him a "cancer" on conservatism?
• A three year old fell off a pontoon boat in Rockwall and hit the propeller. Good grief! He's in serious condition.
• While on the subject of Johnny Manziel yesterday, I was told that there has never been a single guy start as an NFL quarterback who has had his mugshot taken. That couldn't be true.
• "Noah" was the most popular male baby name last year. That's not because of a man with a big boat, that's because of "The Notebook".
• A church in Houston had a carnival that included a bounce house that was blown by high winds and tumbled for 30 feet. 
• There were over 160,000 at the Kentucky Derby. That's over 1-1/2 Jerry Worlds.
• Dog attack in Dallas: "They ate her like they was eating a steak," said her mother, Barbara Brown.
• I missed Rhome's Brandon Davis resigning Friday in the Update. 
• DAVIS RESIGNS AS RHOME CHIEF — Rhome Police Chief Brandon Davis has resigned his position. Davis told the Messenger yesterday that he had decided to resign because he felt like the atmosphere in the city was no longer safe for his family. Davis said that someone has been stalking him, and he believes it is best to move out of the city and change his occupation. He mentioned that because he is no longer a police officer, he has the right to protect his home and family just as any other citizen. “As a civilian, if I catch him coming in my yard, I can take whatever force necessary to protect my property,” Davis said. “I don’t have to say, ‘Stop. Police.’ So I think the best way to protect my family until I can get out of here is to be a regular citizen, because I have more rights.” Read more in the weekend Wise County Messenger.

• "Dallas" is up for adoption. I think my mom needs to check this fella out. She's been looking.
• Senior in the House--- Mom: Finish this, "If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends...." 
• 7th Grader in the House- Mom: "Why did the cops go to the school?" Me: Why? "Because there was a KID...NAPping." 
• I heard Junior on The Ticket talk about drinking your own urine as a health thing a couple of days ago. Come on, that is gross beyond belief. Is there anyone out there that would seriously drink it? I'm not sure I could even if it was a survival thing. It's waste from my body. 
• The murder case in Midlothian will probably speed up tremendously now that they are tapping in to her social media accounts. Am I shocked to learn that the may have had financial and marital problems? No. I'm still going with the husband being the source. "......anticipates more warrants in the coming days for Bevers' Facebook and Twitter accounts, and even Tolltag data. Police will also determine whether she had life insurance."
• Did I read in the comments that BOZO from a couple of days ago was adopted? Please tell me I was the reason he found a home. If so, anyone interested in The Fat Cat in The House? He's kinda similar to these kittens. I'm kidding about him being similar to those kittens, but I'm not kidding about him needing a home. Apparently we are a one cat home. The Family Cat objects daily to the Fat Cat.

• He's neutered, likes the 7th Grader in the House and will come with a chip.
• A man from Abilene happens to be a huge fan of The Foo Fighters. In fact, he is so much a fan that he wants to buy Dave Grohl. He's already received almost $1000 in just two days.
• Ok, maybe I'm not as flawless grammatically as I proclaim myself to be. Then again, I'd like to have you look over anything in my job that I spend more time on. I dare you find a mistake. Wait, I recall a certain office manager that I dared to find mistakes. She returned my letter with red marks all over it. I'll just stick to claiming my grammar is better than Barry's.
• Motorcycle death on I635 yesterday.
• Speaking of, Barry is doing better. Barry and I are both very thankful for every well wish, positive thought, encouraging email and prayer. Once back, I'm sure he'll tell you all about the last month or so. And yes, I pinky promise he'll be back to making you laugh, curse and comment like never before very soon.
• Tomorrow is Prom and the same day that the Senior in the House officially becomes Another Adult in the House. Off.

• Meet Cute Doggie. He needs a home.
• The 7th grader in the house reading her Chinese homework. I'm going to assume it's correct. Math I can help with. Any other language, not so much.
• The Senior In The House forked a guy friend's yard asking him to Prom. He answered. Back story - her and two female didn't have dates and he's a friend to all three, so he's actually taking all three.
• Hey, it's Cinco De Mayo and this was also the day The Senior In The House was due. She arrived two days late.
• This gal shall pose nude. Wanna see her naked?
• The Cartel Lawyer's wife testified in court. Sheesh, what a horrible ordeal.
• From the Update: Gotta love a good Farm Festival.
• FARM FESTIVAL – The Jerry Askey Memorial Farm Festival is May 5-7 at 635 Private Road 4531 in Decatur. There will be a swap meet 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday with a tractor fun pull 4-7 p.m. Saturday. Activities include an antique tractor display, tractor pull, wheat thrashing, hay rides, tractor games and monster truck rides, among other things. Cost is $5 per person for ages 10 and older. The event is put on by the Chisholm Trail Antique Tractor and Farm Equipment Club, Branch 112.
• I don't want to talk politics right now.

• I had an interesting evening loaded with lots of places to be. Parent/Teacher Meeting, Band Concert and a Meeting (that I missed). But before that -- this happened. Good times.
• What a strange world I live in. During the band concert, my mother points to her Apple Watch. There's an update that Ted Cruz has dropped out of the race.
• The dear, sweet BagofNothing guy tweeted this awesome gif of awkwardness.
• Johnny Manziel is due in court tomorrow.
• This is why I love softball because of plays like this. I would love to see more than just 30 seconds though. You know that crowd is going bonkers on both sides.
• Be nice to truckers and also coworkers. This was one disgruntled employee and a very sad ending.
• I get a lot of phone calls from coworkers that I wish would send an email instead.
• Woman gets arrested for drug possession. They found heroin, meth, oh, and the remains of her unborn child. "All I ever wanted was to be a mother and a good wife," Bernadette said.
• The random thoughts are a smidge late....I blame the car. Also, I'm incredibly lucky the tire didn't blow on my round trip to Austin Saturday. Sheesh.

• Yup, I'm late on the RT today. I'm not the hardest working woman in the business. I had to take the 7th grader in the house to school. Normally, that's the job of the 12th grader in the house or Mr. LL. I left 7 minutes later than she demanded. I got heavy sighs all the way to school.
• From the Update today:   APRIL RAINFALL – Wise County received 6.84 inches of rain in April, making it the wettest April since 1998. That was also more than double the average rainfall amount of 3.37 inches. Temperatures in the month ranged from a low of 34 degrees on April 3 to a high of 87 on April 4.
• And the very next line: SLIGHT RAIN CHANCE – After a sunny day with a high of 72 degrees this afternoon, a 20 percent chance of rain is in tonight’s forecast.
• I'm not sure what I think about the bathroom issue. I'm leaning towards not wanting to see a male walk in behind one of my female children.
• I'm thinking the Texas Tech boys behaved badly, but I also have trouble with an opposing team's cheer girls taunting from their side.
• I got to watch a small portion of the Rangers game last night. Not as fun to watch as softball, but it'll do.
• And for your strange news of the day, a woman born with two female parts.

• It's still Mrs. LL blogging.
• The 7th Grader in the House won State! Ok, maybe she had a little help from a few other girls. She even played with an eye injury. She got kicked in the eyeball accidentally by her bff during their "recess" time the day before. It looks pretty gross. I almost tweeted a picture. 
• I will lock on to college softball game if I see one on tv. In a heartbeat.  
• I understand The Cowboys drafted a Baylor basketball player. Yes, basketball. Who does Jerry Jones thinks he is, Jack Lengyel? I'll need The Self Proclaimed Sports Expert to explain that one to me.
• I saw that Blackie Sherrod died. He was actually the inspiration for Mr. LL's Skattershooting that he wrote while DA. I never understood why he used a "k" instead of a "c". 
• Ok, even I am stunned by Trump. How has this even been possible? Seriously. 
• Shocking six dead in Palestine flash flooding. Sheesh.
• I went for a walk in an Arlington Park (to look for a geocache) and saw an actual beaver swimming around. Two minutes later an armadillo crossed within five feet of me on the sidewalk. 
• This month, the number of Texas residents that have a CHL will top 1 million. One million. 
• This week we make final preparations for The Dreaded Prom. It's only dreaded because it's the same day The Senior In The House turns into an adult. I'm not the crier in the house, but I've done more than my fair share this year with all the "Last. ____". 
• I can report from the Traveling Liberally Lean Gangster Automobile that traffic on I35 between DFW and Austin really sucks. Sucks, bad. Is the concept of "left lane passing only" such a hard thing to grasp? 
• I'm told that there is not a single natural gas well working the Barnett Shale. Not one. Is that true?
• Wise County Animal Shelters gets all sorts:
