Let's assume for argument's sake that the would-be assassin's gun hadn't misfired. If only 20 or more people in the audience had been legally carrying concealed weapons, they could have taken out that assassin before he killed that politician.
Wait, it wouldn't have gone down that way? What?!?!?!
Everything about the video is shocking. Perhaps, most appalling is the lack of control the security team had over the situation, as a whole, and entire crowd. The old man, at the end of the confrontation, who had the time and opportunity to take a couple of swings, with his brolly, is comical.
Now you see why, when US head's of state travel, to other nations, they take their own security teams.
When I saw this, I thought, "Man, the title of "Most Surprised Guy in the Room" changed in a split second." And they beat the crap out of the assailant while he was down. Good for them.
The shooter opted to proceed with a judge and jury, random death penalty, and yet if successful there would be a bunch of people worrying and fussing over the "alleged" shooter's right to fair and humane treatment and that he does not deserve the very penalty he chose to give someone else. So easy to believe that way when it's not one of yours butchered.

I read that headline and almost started crying with Joy, then I saw the rest of the story
To post a headline of "Shocking Assassination Attempt" on Inauguration Day is a cheap trick, Mr. Hearst.
