As a fellow biker, please wear your helmet. It might not have helped this guy, because the oncoming left turn is hard to survive. If they don't see you and turn left while meeting you, then it's going to be bad. I have had two buddies that would not be here today if it wasn't for helmets. Please wear a helmet and ride with your high beam on during the day. Hi-viz clothing helps too.
9:30, They make this thing called an automobile that comes standard with all sorts of safety features. It is much safer in case of a wreck.
I think one of the jobs of a father is to always be there for your family. If that means sacrificing the toys you love, so be it. Why take the added risk of getting plowed over by a bad driver....I know you could die in a car as well but it is about mitigating risk. I would rather grow old and be the old geezer grandpa, than be known as the cool motorcycle ridin' dad who couldn't give his daughter away at her wedding.
When its your time, its your time. Motorcycle, car, plane, boat, etc. Don't stop enjoying the things you love, out of fear to live life to its fullest.
2:12...That is stupid, if this guy was in a CAR he would have lived. He died because he was on a motorcycle! I get so pissed off when other men start saying this kind of stuff just to justify a reckless lifestyle. It takes more balls to be there for you family and make sacrifices than it does to ride a damn motorcycle. If that is what you think it takes to make a man then you are terribly misguided.
Spare me the "when its your time" nonsense. That is what folks say when someone died doing something stupid or risky. "Oh terry went out doing what he loved, too bad he had that power surge when he hooked the jumper cables to his nutsack...."
